Really enjoyed this hostel, and the central location was great (though the panhandlers right outside, not so much - including one puking his guts out the first morning I went out). The bathrooms are great, and the curtains around the bed and storage lockers in each room are really great features. I would stay here again, definitely.

The kitchen was so dirty, and all the cups were broken.

Not sure if this is a blight on the hostel or Hostelworld but it's really dishonest that we weren't informed of additional tax upon our arrival. It came to nearly an extra $50 on top of $236 or something like that. That bumps the hostel price up into rip off territory especially when you can get way better in other parts of the world. I know it's more expensive in America, but please no hidden fees.

Hostel is in a great location near Pike's Place in Seattle. The neighborhood can be a little sketchy after dark, but nothing you shouldn't be able to handle. Hostel is large and clean with great facilities, rooms were well furnished and very reasonable, beds were very comfortable.

I absolutely loved the Green Tortoise! Nigel was particularly helpful at the front desk, however, the entire experience there was great. Welcoming staff, fantastic location, and I loved the bunk beds - the little blinds were a wonderful added touch :) I will definitely recommend this hostel to my friends and coworkers.
