Great location, clean room, very helpful and friendly staff. Rooms are clean but small (hey it's Hong Kong.) I would definitely stay here again.

The hostel is fine. The location great, but the building the hostel is in is hideous, disgusting, frightening, made worse by the poor access to it, and the throng of subcontinent men hanging around in groups giving the place an intimidating feel. I feel sorry for our host as he was warm and welcoming, and he kept our facility very clean and tidy. It's a shame we had to go through the rest of the building to get to him.

The owner was very polite and extremely thorough about showing me around the place. The rooms were clean and well decorated. And of course, being in Chungking Mansion, its location is amazing. The only problem was since it was only on the 5th floor, it was almost impossible to use the elevator to go down. When I left, I ended up having to lug my stuff down the creepy fire stairs. That though is no fault of the hostel itself. Just an annoying quirk about the elevators in that building.

The owner is excellent and very friendly, although the hostel itself is quite modest - small rooms, few facilities etc (although I'm sure far better than the other hostels/hotels in the building). Personally I don't like the area much (mostly just lights and shops) but it's a very quick journey by MTR into central HK.

Guangdong guest house is a find! Very lucky to have stumbled upon this place, Simon is the best so helpful and the hostel was perfect for what we wanted (cleaniness, Sercurity, Location and value for money). Thanks again Simon.

Simon was awesome. He understood when we'd forgotten to change over our money to HKD before we checked in (and told us the nearest places for that). He showed us how to use everything in the room. He cleaned the room every day and even changed our sheets every other day! That's a hostel first for me. The location couldn't be better, and the room -- while small -- was everything we needed. The building it's in IS a little sketchy, so you have to be careful with your stuff when going in and out.

my friends and i were recently in hong kong and with the hotel rates sky high, we decided to stay in guangdong guest house, a hostel. we were a little wary at first because of all the warnings we read about people who hang out at the lobby. however, when we got to our rooms, we were very pleased because these were very clean and contained all the amenities and facilities we needed for a comfortable stay. simon, the manager, was very helpful. i would stay there again if i go back to hongkong.

The Guangdong Gueasthouse staff, Simon To, is superb! He is very accommodating, entertaining, reliable, and funny. He is an awesome guy. I would not have second thoughts about staying at Guangdong Guesthouse when I get a chance to go back to Hong Kong. It's location is perfect, The only thing that makes staying at Guangdong Guesthouse a bit irritating is the presence of East Asian guys at the lobby of Chungking Mansions and the building's small elevator going up to the guesthouse.

Exceptionally clean, all new bathroom fixtures, nice-looking bed linen, fresh towels. Simon is very helpful! A gem of the Chunking Mansions so far (I've tried five hostels). An excellent deal if you don't mind the smallness of the room and the lack of windows.

We enjoyed our stay at Guangdong guesthouse. At first we got confused downstairs because there were 2 Guangdong hotels in the building. But it was okay coz the people were helpful in giving us directions. Mr. Simon is soooo nice!!! And the place is clean too, also very secure. Can't comment much on the outside since building looks old and crowded. But then no one should not judge the place by its outside appearance. Will definitely come back & stay here again & also recommend this to friends!

Its a pleasure to stay at Guangdong guest house. Tha staff is very friendly. Eventhough the room is small but it was cleaned everyday, they also changed the bed sheet once in 2 days. The location is strategic in the center, although it was a little creepy at first we arrived there, but Simon already gave us a clear direction to get there. I will definitely stay at there again when I visit Hong Kong :]

The hostel is good and the charge is reasonable. The location is excellent and there's subway just in front of the mansion.

The room is very clean with seperate toilet and shower, which is not very common in Chungking mansion. That's a big plus. Simon is a friendly guy to, and location is good. If you don't like Chunking don't go, if you dont mind, this is probably one of the better options to stay in.

This hostel is pretty awesome when you take into account the really crappy selection of hostels in Hong Kong. Simon, the owner, does everything for you and cleans the room every single day. We got new towels each day, had new sheets, and Simon was super helpful in any questions we had. He gives excellent directions on how to get there via email before so it was very easy to find. I would recommend this hostel to anyone going to Hong Kong.

Loved this place even though it was a little unnerving at first. Glad that Simon made clear to look for Chinese Simon and no one else. Very clean with hotel cleanliness and room refreshing. Helpful and near everything! Glad they also had the necessary converters for us to borrow along with a hair dryer.
