The location of La Kongo is fantastic. It just takes minutes and we are at the \'Dotonbori\', the heart of Osaka where food and shopping are available.

Not a very clean environment. The shower was pretty terrible. The location is interesting, up the road is where all the life is, but it seemed like there were a lot of dodgy parts around us!

Guest House La Congo was our first hotel in Japan, our flights had been delayed and we arrived at 11.30pm - we were warmly greeted by the very lovely and hard-working receptionist. The double room with ensuite was ryokan style, it wasn't a huge but it was nicely presented and clean.. My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay so much that we returned for our last night. It is easy to find and only a short walk down the street to Osaka's Doutonbori. We would definitely come back :)

The stairs were a little challenging with a heavy case, but the location close to Dotonburi was excellent. Kudos also to the manager, who was extremely friendly and helpful, bringing me a coffee - unasked - when I was checking some things on my laptop in the lounge.

We stayed in a Japanese style double ensuite. Vishnu was super kind and attentive, and we even got complimentary orange juice when we first arrived. It definitely hit the spot, as we had just walked with our luggage to the hostel. There was also a cool, small restaurant that he operates that overlooks the river. The hostel is very new and very clean. The only downside is that there is no elevator, so you will have to carry your luggage up the flights of stairs. Vishnu did help us carry them tho.

A great hostel with very helpful staff in an excellent location. Just off Dotonbori street, the hostel couldn't be more central for getting around Osaka. And the staff were excellent and really friendly. The facilities were great especially with access to washing facilities for clothes. Personally we could not find anything wrong with La Kongo and would recommend it to anyone.

We really enjoyed our stay. Near to subway & very near to Dotonbori. Staff was very helpful & most importantly, it was very clean. Love that we had to take off our shoes so the room floor was maintained clean.

The location was excellent. Right next to the main shopping and dining streets of south Osaka. But no TV in the room, and has to go downstairs for the Internet, which was a hassle. We stayed there for six nights. The first two nights we spent cramped up in a tiny little room up on the forth floor (room 8), then the owner told us we could change to a different room when they have space two days later. Which he did when we asked. The new room (room 5) was much much better and bigger...

Great guy manages the place himself, great location. Rooms are very basic for the price though.
