The guesthouse is in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood, very close to Daitokuji temple. It's a straight shot from Kyoto Station, about 30 minutes, on the No. 9 bus. The owner is exceedingly kind and helpful. On my final day, he even drove me to the nearest subway station with all of my luggage! The place is very clean and well maintained, and an excellent value. My only critique is that the walls are thin and sometimes you can hear other people talking, etc, but all in all a great stay!

The Guesthouse Bon is such a place to be experienced in Kyoto, Authentic Japanese atmosphere, friendly staff, low price. Although the location is a bit far from the Kyoto train station, it takes about 40 to 50 minutes by Bus. It worth experience a traditional to stay in. I would definitely recoomend staying there.

Definitely a wonderful place to stay ! The owner was amazingly helpful (give town maps, transportation maps, show us were the better place to visit were, explain us the better way to go there, and so much more !!!) Rooms are clean and are traditional tatami rooms. The shower-rooms are clean, but are located in the garden (so you have to walk 3 meters outside ; it may be a problem in winter, but in other season it's fine ;o)

Guesthouse Bon is a wonderful place to stay. It feels like a home away from home, in fact it's better than my home because it is immaculately clean and made very comfortable by the traditional Japanese tatami mats and futon. It's a great place to stay if you want to spend time exploring the Daitokuji temple complex (which in my opinion is the best thing to experience in Kyoto) and to experience suburban life outside of the city centre. There are many sento nearby.

Compact place; simple but nice. Very friendly, helpful, hospitable. Bike hire is good. Place has a bit of character. Is a little way from centre of town and not too close to the subway though.

Mr..Bon, the owner is very nice and kind. He picked me up at the subway on the way back in the early morning to transfer to JR Kyoto Shinkansen. The atmosphere is Japanese style (Tatami). If I will go to Kyoto I will visit him again and again.
