I had a lovely stay at Guesthouse Bon - mostly thanks to its great owner! Upon arrival he sat down with me and helped me tailor make an itinerary for my stay in Kyoto. I mostly biked and walked everywhere and wasn't bothered by the location, which is a little bit away from the center. It's about a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station. i got provided a spacious room, and the hostel has good kitchen and bathroom facilities. Super friendly place - it felt like I was staying at someone's home

Guesthouse Bon was a great little place to stay in Kyoto! Bon's knowledge of Kyoto and all of the places to see, how to get there, which spots are the quietest and busiest, was incredible. Help is always easily found, facilities are good, but it is a little out of Kyoto main city. A highly recommended guesthouse! Thanks Bon!

Though it is not close to Kyoto Station or the downtown of Kyoto, still has easy approach and all the exciting places can be accessed in a short time. The hostel is really traditional with tatami rooms, it reflects the price but very well equipped and practical. The owner is one of the most helpful I have ever known, he speaks English well and you can ask anything he will find the answer.
