The host couple is really really nice. The whole place is clean and cozy.

The place is a bit far out from the city centre, but there are two metro stops nearby which makes it still a quite convenient location. The family that runs the hostel is very nice and offers plenty of helpful information about the city and sightseeing tips. Facilities are also very clean. We liked the area for it's local and not very touristy vibe.

The owner couple is very friendly and helpful! The hostel is nice, clean and has all you need. There are not many other travellers at the moment, so it is very quiet and peaceful.

The owners made my stay in Osaka extra special, they were so attentive, friendly, and warm. They are willing to go out of their way to accommodate you. It felt more like staying in someone's home than a hostel, yet you can still socialize with other travelers in the common area. I would definitely stay in this hostel again when I visit Japan next time, and definitely recommend other travelers in booking with them.

The prev review (Mexico, female, 41+) contains a lot of misleading/false info and comes across as willfully ignorant. #1 You can't wear shoes inside any Japanese guesthouse. Get used to it. I wear socks. #2 You can in fact use the living space/kitchen any time you want; they just ask for quiet late at night. #3 The gas range doesn't need permission; just a tutorial. #4 All guesthouses expect you to clean your kitchen mess. #5 Taeko and Koji are fun to visit with and provide a great experience.

Thanks Taeko and Koji for your very nice home. the security system was top class. hostel was like staying in someone's house. cosy, clean and spacious. you're in between the subway and hankyu line so u can choose which to take. one day subway pass is highly recommended. informative pamphlets and helpful owners that will guide u in any way to make Osaka a positive city experience. the stretch of food stalls and snack shops help makes u feel part of the jap community. Perfect Osaka experience.

Lovely hostel, lovely family. So helpful and friendly. I would thoroughly recommend this place to anyone looking to visit Osaka. Sure it is not so close to the main city areas but a ten minute walk from the hostel brings you to the metro station and everything is easily accessible from there.

Was a wonderful stay in a very comfortable setting and in a lovely neighborhood. Would absolutely come back again. Best hostel experience Ive ever haf. Only downside is few plugs for charging in the room but its such a nit picky point. There are enough to keep phones charged and thats all you really need on a vacation.

I've stayed at hostels all over Japan and this was easily one of the best. The hostel is clean, the atmosphere is friendly, and the owner, Koji, is very welcoming and speaks native-level English.

A bit difficult to find and out if the way which is great to be in a non tourist area unless you really want to be a tourist. Please note there is no English option on the tickets machines for the private railway line going to Mikuni station which is a bit confusing. Not sure about the subway to Higashi-Mikuni. Staff are lovely and kitchen etc area is great, beds a bit squeaky but comfortable. Area is nice lots of food shops.

Thank you very much for the review! We are sure that your comment helps us improve and also future guests! As for the ticket machine for Hankyu train, yes, it is a shame… But what you need to do is just putting some coins first and chose the fare.(JPY190 from Umeda terminal sta. to Mikuni) We are glad that you enjoyed this non-touristy area, including the local onsen! :) Thank you again for coming to our little place!!

This was a wonderful experience! The location is near two train lines, many shops and restaurants and a very local feel atmosphere. Very clean, stylish and the hosts were friendly and extremely helpful.

アットホームで、ホッとするホステルです。 オーナー夫妻はすごく親切!手の行き届いたおもてなし精神に感激。 商店街は大阪の下町生活が分かり、日本人の私でも面白かったです! 大阪へ行く際はまた伺います!

Owners Koji and Taeko were so helpful and friendly and were always able to advise on places to go & the best way to get there. The guesthouse is lovely, very clean, quiet & has everything you would need. It was interesting to be in a more suburban location and see people going about their daily lives as opposed to being right in the city center amongst lots of tourists. There was a very close train station & one a little bit further away.

Perfect little guest house. The owners are lovely and the Japanese style room was very comfortable. It's in a nice little neighbourhood with a great atmosphere. I'd definitely stay here again if I went back to Osaka!

Koji and Taeko, thank you! I appreciate how you spoke to me on a first name basis, and how you were both friendly and kind, but respectful of my personal space. I passed my test, by the way! For future guests: this hostel is clean and family-run. I viewed my time there as guest entering someone's well-kept home, rather than a customer entitled to being pampered. The hostel is shared by the family, so there are items off-limits to backpackers; I personally wasn't bothered by it at all.

We hope your time in Japan goes well as it has been and the test result gives you more chances!! All the best, Koji & Taeko

The shower room was pretty cold but it's ok as there was a public bath within 1-minute walk distance.

Great hostel. Easy to find with the map provided. Also, it's easy to get to all tourist attracions in Osaka and around while enjoying the non-touristic area around hostel. Neighbourhood is fantastic so take some time to go to local cafe, restaurant - ask owners for reccomendations.
