Very convenient location, less then 5 minute walk from the center, and a very friendly staff. The guy in charge was always very attentive and open. Definitely would return to this Hostel, and We may actually have to return for our last days in Iceland and will do it with pleasure :)

The owner was very helpful and friendly. The location close to the main street/downtown and all the attractions are within walking distance. He also rents cars at very competitive rates.

Mediocre guesthouse, located near to a central bus hub in the city. Building could use an update, as it reminded me of the sort of seedy hotels one finds by a railway station in larger European cities, but was clean enough and functional for a quick night or two. Two showers for three floors of rooms seems a bit off and the breakfast was subpar. Management generally surly and did not seem to be very interested in running the place. Not great, not awful... 5% upcharge for card payments was odd.

The food was very good and the staff was very helpful but did not know much english. Unfortunately there was no electricity when we arrived and due to the high volume of travellers during the holiday the water pressure in the shower was very bad. The room was not very clean, and had a bad smell (especially from the bathroom). Compared to other hostels - Uncle Jiangs was very expensive. I will likely recommend this hostel to friends - I think it would be better when it is not a national holiday.
