Property Information:
One of the few home-like cheap accommodations around Takayama Station, FREE WiFi and FREE PC in the comfortable and relaxing lounge, great access to the famous Oku Hida Hot Springs and the world heritage Shirakawago, Guest House Gekka is an excellent choice to stay in Takayama region, whether you travel alone, or with families and friends.
We are conveniently located in the center of Takayama city. We have a shop called 'Yellow Moon', and a cafe called 'Cafe Gekka' on the first floor. When you check in, please go to the counter of Cafe Gekka.
We have 4 guest rooms. The guest rooms are very simple, but neat and cozy. Hand towel, sheet and bedding are prepared.
You can take a shower, or enjoy soaking in our bathtub. We also recommend you to try out the nice public bathhouse in the neighborhood. There is also a hot spring hotel that you might want to visit, which is only 5 min walk from the guest house. If you come by car, don't hesitate to ask us to recommend you to more nearby hot spring facilities.
On both the first floor and the second floor, there are free spaces where you can have a relaxing time. Please enjoy a FREE cup of tea, FREE PC, or FREE Wifi Internet. We have a variety of music DVDs and movie DVDs, and hope you enjoy watching them. Feel free to use the microwave, fridge, massage machine, thermos, and hair-dryer. Have fun playing all kinds of games we have here, or reading the comic books.
We offer coffee, alcoholic drinks and food at Cafe Gekka. You are welcome to dine here, or bring your own food. The Lawson store is right next door, and a famous bakery shop is just across the street. There are also many restaurants in the neighborhood.

From JR Takayama Station to Guest House Gekka:
After getting out the exit of JR Takayama Station, walk south for 200m, turn right at the traffic light of a T intersection on to Rt. 158, and turn left at the next traffic light. Walk until you pass a Lawson store, and you will see our guest house on the left side of the street. We are about 13 min walk from JR Takayama Station.

Latest Review
We really like this guesthouse that had a unique atmosphere. The owners are very nice and very interesting people. The room was small but comfortable. The location is a bit far away from the center and hard to find but I think the amosphere more than compensates for this. In the evening there was music in the common space and the decoration and arrangement made a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
