This is a treasure in Nara. So close to the JR station and easy to find. SUPER SUPER clean. Getting a private room was cheaper for 2 persons than dorms compared to other places in NARA. LOVED IT

Nara, dont have much hostel, and I believe Guesthouse Nara Komachi is one of the best one! Location is close to JR, even go to the Nara shopping area is not too far! I love the cooking area there, I can cook and enjoy the meal there! Area is clean, and the Lady (staff) are very nice and helpful, good english speaking. Very Clean, and nice setting! the room is not very big, but price is reasonable! Really a good choice if you would like to stay in Nara.

We stayed at a lot of places throughout Japan and this was, by far, one with the best value. Our room was large and clean, with an ensuite shower and toilet; good space economy and cutely designed. The front desk attendant was very helpful and spoke English. It's also very close to JR Nara station. I highly recommend Nara Komachi.

This is a beautiful, new hostel/inn run by friendly staff. Unfortunately, the sinks in the private rooms are so small you can't even brush your teeth, let alone wash your face. Also, it's unclear whether the "Japanese Twin" and "Bunk-bed Twin" correspond to the "Standard Twin Private" or "Twin Private."

The quilts you use on your beds were incredibly comfortable, we still talk about them actually :)

Amazing place and staff, highly recommend it. Only reason to not stay is if you are looking for a party hostel. Excellent facilites and rooms, (cheap bike rental is well worth it). The staff were fantastic! They helped me book a future bus, looked up train times for us and were full of recommendations for eating and drinking in Nara. Will definitely be staying here again when I'm back in Nara.

Everything is very nice in your hostel, with warm environment and friendly staff, convenient location. The only inconvenient thing is the basin was too small for face washing. And we worried of the privacy in our room toilet as we could only see the glass wall but not the curtain. That had nearly withheld our booking. I would suggest to note the presence of curtain in your introduction:-) Thank you very much and we had excellent time in Nara:-)

Was a great little guesthouse for our overnight in Nara. We got a bit of a laugh out of the privacy blinds leading to the bathroom, but it really is a great place. Its not in the most scenic area, but it is very convenient too and from the JR Nara station.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The guesthouse was lovely, very clean. It absolutely poured rain for the two days we were in Nara and on the second day it was so stormy that we had to spend the day in the guesthouse. Luckily the wi-fi was strong enough to stream videos and there was also a tv in the room so we were perfectly happy to stay indoors! The guesthouse is only a 10 minute walk from Nara-Koen and less than 5 minutes from the train station.

The room (the 4-bed one) was spotlessly clean and beautiful, and I liked the layout of the room. The staff were courteous and very helpful. I loved the decor - it gave me a warm and inviting feeling every time I return from my day's travel. I felt very much at home there.

It really is more like a hotel then a hostel. The rooms were amazing, with the bathroom being inside the rooms. The staff was always friendly and willing to help and the hostel is located 2 mins away from the JR nara station so the location really couldn't have been better.

Really lovely place, clean and fresh, with very helpful staff who spoke good English. Good facilities - small kitchen, free tea/coffee, free wifi and computers that you could use in the lobby. Small but very clean and cosy rooms. Would highly recommend this place to anyone!

This guesthouse was awesome. It was absolutely clean, the staff was very nice and the room itself was beautiful. We were sad that we only booked for one day.

10mins to the hostel from Nara JR Station. A small & cosy hostel. Easy to find. Just follow the instructions exactly what it said on the website. Very well equipped kitchen, computer & reading area - right in front of the receptionist. So if you need anything, just refer to the lady there. Most of the main attractions are within walking distance - 25mins-30mins walking distance to Todaiji, passing by Higashimuki Shopping Street, Kofuku-ji Temple and the Sarusawa-no-ike Pond, Deer Park & Museum.

We arrived in Nara late in the afternoon hoping to hire the car the next day. Kyoko, the lady at reception was so unbelievably helpful. I think she made about 10 phone calls for us to various rental places, recommended ones she thought were good and answered all our questions. The guesthouse is lovely, small but sufficient. We had a double room with ensuite bathroom, whilst the room was quite small it was so well designed in the layout that you didn`t really notice. I would definately recommend!

One of the best hostels I stayed at during my time in Japan. Very clean traditional style look to it but has some really great modern additions, such as a remote controlled A/C unit and a T.V. with local Japanese television. Also had very helpful staff, with great location to the train station and temples. Overall really great hostel.
