This hostel is in an exellent location and for the price is very reasonable. Not the worst hostle i have stayed in. I imagine that in the summer time that this place would be jumping with backpackers. The beds were huge and room and showers were clean so overall a good hostel i think. We only stayed for two nights, but the staff was extremely helpful, and everyone was friendly. It was, however, mighty cold, and our bathroom had a bit of a draft going in....take that extra jacket! The location couldn't be better. The rooms are pretty dark and a little used but well maintained. The lobby is not heated so it can be quite cold and uncomfortable during cold periods. The staff is friendly, however the service charge for booking train tickets is too high. They wanted 40 RMB. Also did we pay 120 RMB for the bamboo rafting when elsewhere it could be bought for much less. So better ask around first.The location couldn't be better. The staff was very helpful and arranged everything for us. The boat ride was incredible. This is a great base camp from which to plan the rest of your trip in this province The downside of this hostel is that the shower was a bit dirty and the toilets although western style (HUGE PLUS! on my book) kept getting clogged by our roomatesThe staff was very helpful and arranged everything for us. Amazing location, helpful stuff excellent communication, extra big rooms with massive bed. Overall a good value money/quality/size/location, but the place could use a lift-up and more maintenance. We stayed there 2 nights. 2 nights it was too much! The staff is RUDE, unfriendly, unhelpful- they give us wrong informations. If you want buy Li River Cruise with chinese people don't belive about 2 hours for shopping for Chinese which is written in the hostel tour-book. This cruise is cheaper and Chinese has only 15-20 minutes for shopping! The walls in the room was dirty, tv doesn't work (tv works only in lobby!). The water was stinky! The staff was unfriendly and kept on using the computer while talking to us not looking at us but at the computer screen. The room was really dirty with stinky sheets and pieces of hair from former customers. Only the location was good.
