Very friendly and extremely helpful staff. Organised a great tour of the Longji rice terraces, which was well worth it. The rooms were of a very high standard and clean. The hostel also had a lovely common area. Really enjoyed our time there.

The location is good. Its near the bus station, and the real busy center is a 10 minute walk. The only thing that is a bit annoying is that they are very focused on selling you one of there tours.

Original room smelled moldy but I was moved to a dryer (and nicer) room quickly, but this might not be possible if the hotel were full. The hostel was okay (more like a hotel), but the manager was very pushy about selling trips. Overall, I think Guilin is a hard-sell city and this may just be par for the course, but it was not my experience in other cities in China and I did not like the overall feeling.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great to have food and drinks available. A cute little terrace overlooking the river. Near enough to the main city. Huge rooms, well kept. Highluy recommended.

It is actually more like a hotel than a hostel (actually its Chinese name is a "hotel") with quite big and clean rooms. However the staff are hostel-type, helpful and enthusiastic.

Staff were excellent and (private) rooms were spacious and comfortable. Tours arranged by the hostel and pricing of coffee and food provided on premises were not competitive with other hostels we have stayed at in the area, however (it was much cheaper to do a tour to the Longji rice terraces from Yangshuo, for example). Most alarmingly, if you stay in the second building they lock you in with a bicycle lock overnight such that if there is a fire you are going down with the building!

it was terrific to stay in this hostel.... more over after 2 hours walking here and there... the staff were really nice and the atmosphere of this hotel peacefully and friendly .. some of the moment we laughed and take picture with the other guess too.. the room is clean and neat except the balcony in third floor.. there's some waste things their put it there like old mattress and so on.. but so far guilin riverside was the best hostel staff i've ever met so far..

A good hostel. The nearby area is walkable and the river is nice in the morning. The rooms are basic and basically in line with what you can expect in China. Bathrooms and clean, and the staff is helpful.

the girls who ran the hostel were very friendly, helpful and fluent in english. They booked our onward journey for us in advance and this went off without a hitch. Only suggestion: they should modernise the bathroom, whilst everything was there, it was very tired and shabby looking.

All of the staff and the manager or owner couldn't be more helpful and pleasant. They all would go out of their way to help and they were very informitive. I would highly recommend this hostel. It has been one of the nicest and most reasonable that we have stayed in,in China.

100% this hotel is excellent. I travelled to Guilin with my parents (who are a little old) and this hotel was excellently suited to our needs. The staff were helpful and very considerate concerning my parents. They gave good advice. Very close to the 2 lakes and the main shopping streets of Guilin. Probably a 5 minute walk. Also, it is only a 5 minute walk from the main bus station. I would defo stay here again
