Excellent location - a walk by the river, and next to Guilin's central parks/waterways, and to the nearby night market is perfect in the evening! It's also close to train and bus stations, has clean rooms with everything you'd need, and helpful staff who can recommend sights to see in the area. Thank you!

Very nice rooms for price. Poor range of food and expensive

Great location, great staff, you will get all you need and more. Room size is more than you can expect, and the bed size too. Perfect place for few days trip around Guilin area.

Englishspeaking staff. Very close to the trainstation. The rooms are very nice with a big panorama-view. The hotel arranges good, cheap tours (for example the boat-cruise) for a good price

We stayed there for just a night and regreted not to stay more. Our room was beautiful, super clean, with a river view. The staff has been very helpful and has helped us arrange transportation to go to the Dragon Terrasse and the day after to the airport. By night we could walk to the night market (5min walk). I definitly recommend this place!

Lovely location right on the river with eating drinking area overlooking. Staff can speak pretty good English. Just a tad difficult to find the first time arriving,

My room was beautiful, with a large private deck that overlooked the river. Glorious views, particularly at night, when China does what it does so well, and brings out the lights. Bathroom facilities very good and clean. Even though this hostel is in the middle of the city, it is tucked away in its own little bubble of peace and tranquility.

Really enjoyed the king bed room with patio overlooking the river. Spacious bathroom and room. Staff helpful, breakfast ok, not great. breakfast eating area very nice. This place is a real bargain - very close to bus station to Yangshuo. Staff great at helping arrange tours on short notice. Wish had time to stay here longer.

The indoor common area was small and not that conducive to relaxing, if you wanted a bit of down time. The outdoor dining area was very nice; however,.there were few people about and the weather was a bit cool for sitting out. Overall, the room was the nicest of my hostel experiences in China. Good lighting in the room, so reading and writing there was possible, unlike other places I stayed in.

Really helpful, friendly staff, and great food courtesy of Mike.

the name riverside rises the expectations a bit too high. The Hostel is near a big road intersection and bridge and the traffic is heared easily at night. But the rooms are spacious and clean, there is some room for reading your books downstairs, playing billard etc. Breakfast can be eaten in the hostel (pay extra) which makes it easier than searching for possibilities in the city.

Nice location, friendly staff, nice food, helpful, great place to stay as a base for exploring the beautiful surrounding areas! Rooms a bit cold at night (could have done with an extra blanket) but doubt this would be a problem most of the year! Thanks :)

Nice location, but felt more like a hotel than a hostel to be honest. Staff were helpful when we needed them. Tours are more expensive here than at other hostels - like Longji Rice Terraces day trip in around 300RMB pp, but at Wada Hostel (also in Guilin), it only costs 220RMB pp.

They gave us wrong information about the ferries between Yangdi and xingping. We wantd to walk, so they say its not possible and sold an organised Trip to us instead. That is not fair.

One of the best hostels I've been to, and I've been to a few. Room was hotel quality with great facilities. Staff speak excellent English and Mike, the resident chef and odd-job man, is just an awesome bloke who will drink with you from morning till night if you want. Excellent menu available around the clock as well. Cannot recommend enough!

I was cold all the time as there is no central heat and didn't feel comfortable staying in the dorm room. I checked out early and went to a hotel after a couple of nights.

Was very impressed with this hostel, probably the best we've stayed at. Big clean rooms and helpful, friendly staff. We only stayed one night as a stop before yangshuo but worth staying longer if we had wanted to explore guilin. Only downside was the fact that our river view was blocked by a tree.

Staff we're extremely helpful and managed to arrange a trip for us at very short notice. Breakfast cooked by Mike was lovely and he agreed to provide it before the usual breakfast starting time as we head to catch an early train.

very close to the intercity bus station, great food served at their restaurant, balcony overlooking the river, clean, giant beds in the dorms, they provide towel.
