Perfect location because Charneca do Guincho is a very cosy small village, but yet close to a bigger town like Cascais where you can find whatever you need and just half an hour from Lisbon. The staff is really lovely, always helpful and can give the best tips. What else? Cool beach, lots of possible activities, lovely staff and all this in a place where you can really feel at home. the hostel is at a good location for those who want to surf. For the others, the location is also good if you have a car, otherwise it'sa real pain getting to nice beaches or places to visit. The beach is at 20 minutes walk but it was way too windy when I was there to be able to stay there. I didn't see the second floor of the hostel, which appears on the pictures, because it was rented to a family and thus closed to the other guests. the owner of the hostel is very friendly.the hostel is at a good location for those who want to surf. NOT your typical hostel-- more like a beach house that you share with everyone else staying there. Jorge lives 5-10 minutes away and shows up briefly in the morning and whenever someone calls him. Guests mostly run the show -- feels odd when you arrive, but soon becomes lots of fun. Not many restaurants, works best if you buy food at the market around the corner or in supermarket in Cascais. Walk to beach nice, though ti can be windy, better for sports than catching sun.NOT your typical hostel-- more like a beach house that you share with everyone else staying there.
