Everything at this hostel was just perfect and I could not find a single thing bad to say about it. It is by far the most modern hostel I've been to so far and the cleanest also. The staff was very courteous and informative and the hostel had several different lounges, a huge dinning room and kitchen, a theater room, computer room, restaurant, and even a game room. HI Chicago was also close to transportation, restaurants, and is in a university area. I would highly recommend staying here.

The hostel was great. Cheap clean and located right in downtown by the loop.Only bad thing I could say is the free WiFi did not work very well.

For the money I paid ($30 pn) I wasn't expecting much, but the hostel amazed me for its cleanliness, hastle free wi-fi, and facilities like living rooms, study rooms, meeting rooms, game rooms, mini-theatre, library and neat and well resourced kitchen. I had pleasure cooking in it! I also liked the peace of mind of having huge lockers for my valuables (simply bring your own padlock/s!). The office (with its friendly staff) opens 24hrs! and the 'free' breakfast was just a cherry on top!!!

This was my second time staying here, and it was great. Comfortable and clean, and you absolutely cannot beat the location or price. The free breakfast was nice, too, and saved my friends and me a lot of money. Also, the staff was really helpful with giving us directions for walking and bus. I'm sure I'll stay here again next time I'm in Chicago.

100% for this hostel, best hostel i have stayed in! Pros= most comfortable bunk bed i hever slept in- tough build which means you dont wake the bottom person when getting in, let me check-in early @7am so i could sleep, awesome kitchen facilities, huge areas to relax, big rooms, private ensuite away enough not to wake everyone when you are getting ready, lockers in room, free towel, free wifi, free breaky Cons=NONE! I loved this hostel and will only ever stay here if i come back to Chicago

Staff were very helpful when prompted. Pillows were amazing, the hostel was very clean, but lacked some character. For a large hostel overall very good.

This hostel was perfectly located. So close to millenium park. The personel wfas so nice, answering our requests with a smile in the face. The rooms were sooo big, with so many space between the beds, and each bed with a locker. The beds were confortable and the sheets cleans. I would recommend 100% to book in this hostel. I would repeat if i have the opportunity to go again to Chicago.

Best hostel I've ever stayed at. Great size room, super comfortable bed, very secure as they provide lockers and each floor can only be accessed by those living on it. Close location to metro, downtown and excellent bars/clubs only two train stops away. Don't hesitate to book here.

It was a great stay and the location and facilities were excellent. However, the staff was not very helpful. They did answer my questions but they seemed not willing to. Also, one of the cleaning lady was extremely rude. I was taking a nap in my room and she stormed into the room and started vacuuming. I asked her if she would like to come back later but she replied rudely and blamed me for taking a nap in the afternoon! This lady ruined my day!

Everything is good, but only I am inconvenienced by not having enough shower booth. I already miss Chicago!

My room was filled with older people who complained about me coming in late after a night out. Hostels should not be this way. Also, I was always cold at night. The blankets were far too thin and lumpy. If you are looking to hang out w/ young people, go out, party, etc, this hostel is NOT the right place. They have no age restrictions (to young & old). The peopel there were either high school kids or people above their 40's. Not the best place to go to hang out.

Over my expectation. Perfect location and security was my worry at first but they had a big locker in each room and outside also (useful if you check out and want to store your bags), rooms are big, free wifi, free breakfast, computer room, games room... ok just perfect.
