Appreciation the cleanliness and the value (price). Seems like most Americans do not know you exist (interesting). It's great your booked so often. Wish you could accommodate more people. Thats the only challenge UGH. I really, really, really enjoy HI-International (it is different than the other hostels-CLEAN). Also twice time I tried to sign-up as a member but something was wrong with your system (something like that-hmmm) Thank you so much!

The only gripe I have is the lack of outlets for those in a top bunk. In theory, people in the room should share outlets, but those on the bottom bunks seem to take both outlets for the bed AND the wall outlet near the windows. I ended up having to charge my phone (my only chargeable device) in the outlet near the vanity.

I booked a private room, which was really clean. Very busy hostel, lots going on which might help to meet people. Excellent facilities Great that breakfast included in price. Only downside is that it was a bit noisy late at times

This hostel looks clean everywhere, including restrooms and our beds. The kitchens have all utensils, stoves and ovens ready to use. It locates right at the center of the downtown and makes it easily accessible to most attractions on foot. Staffs are friendly and knowledgeable. It is by far the best hostel I've ever stayed with, although it is relatively in a bit high price compared to other hostels but it is value for what they have.

As I solo traveller I found it a bit difficult meeting people. Everyone kept to themselves and there weren't organised nights out

They actually provide towels, linens, pillows.. all that good stuff. AND continental breakfast. Great location in DT Chicago. Staff was very helpful. Had a private room with keycard locks.. nice and secure. Diverse crowd. Have never stayed in a hostel in the US before and it was a great experience.

I stayed in H.I.Chicago hostel for one night in 10bed female room. It was ok for one night - great location for moderate price - but I would't stay there longer. 10 bedroom female room was clean, the air wasn't that fresh but I guess that's normal when there are that many people. The only problem was that around 2am the room got one male member brought by one of the girls. Two of them made out for a while and made some noise, but eventually stopped :)

A mega hostel is not more than a cheap hotel. Joyless staff but extremely comfortable and clean beds. It really depends on what you look for in a hostel.

The hostel was near the mass transit and in the heart of downtown. Staff was friendly and the facilities were clean and secure. I would stay here again.

The "Amount Due On Arrival" is 30% than what Hostelworld tells you!! They say it's due to taxes and surcharge, but it makes this hostel EXPENSIVE. It was vey quiet, clean and in a good location though. You can definitely get some sleep and free food, but don't go here to meet other travelers. Everyone sticks to themselves and only talks to you if they need something. Mostly it's high school students on school trips, so makes socializing difficult. Front desk is also not that friendly.

The linen and blanket do not seen to be clean. It has some dirt on it, but otherwise this place is good for one- night stay.

I think the hostel should fix immediately any facility which is out of order as the guest may need it urgently.

Be careful of "Kyle", one of staffs in H I, customers! He cheated me by using my credit card for using his own sake. When I arrived, he asked me to show my credit card (to check my advanced booking) and I showed it. Somehow he took a long time to do (at that time I was not doubting him much) and gave my card back. However, I found it that he was trying to make payment for some flight ticket to Miami; found this when I came back to my country and checked my bank account. I blocked my card!

One of the greatest hostels I've ever seen! Located within walking distance from most major sights and close to all transportation. Friendly and helpful staff, and a volunteer guide on location most days, elderly people from Chicago which are so knowledgeable! Rooms are comfortable and not too crammed. Big breakfast included, simple but good. Nice kitchen if you want to cook yourself. Good Wifi, works everywhere in the hostel. Will totally stay here again when I go back!
