I thoroughly enjoyed my time at HI. The hostel was very clean and had all the amenities I hoped for. I enjoyed both the staff and the others that I met staying at the hostel.

I booked a 6 person female room and it was perfect. The bed was a bit soft, but further everything was great. The bathroom and toilet were clean and breakfast simple but fine for me. I would recommend this to my friends and if I'm ever going back to Chicago I'll sleep here again

Only stayed one night, but would stay there again. Beds were very comfortable, breakfast is great, too. Location very convenient.

Definitely the best hostel I've ever been so far! I was totally in love with it! Already recommended to all my friends.

An excellent hostel in most regards. Great location right in the heart of downtown, fantastic breakfast, ultra secure and clean, and spacious dorms. Terrible atmosphere, though, thanks to the majority of guests seemingly spending their whole time with their noses buried in their computers or smart phones. If this sounds like you wake up to yourself. Hostels are supposed to be about meeting other travellers & making friends. So put your computer or phone away & talk to people!

Nice hostel, good breakfast and helpful staff. There were quite a number of rooms for the number of washrooms in the private twin areas though.

Overall I loved my stay. The staff is helpful and friendly. However, one drawback is the dependency on cell phones. If you do stay, put your phone down for a bit and talk to other hostelers. Also definitely take advantage of their tours and free shows. Great way to experience the city. Thanks!

Need to remind people to bring their own locks for lockers.

I do not understand why we have to slide our key card when we take the elevator going down. If I want to go down by the elevator, that means that I stay there after going through all the security and even the payment. I am not saying it is a bad idea but I just couldn't fully understand.

The recommendation posters around the place were great! We took them up on some pizza recommendations, and some blues night recommendations, both of which were really fun. It could have been cool to meet some of the hundreds of other people staying there. Also, there was a school group there while we were and they were particularly roudy in the evenings around the central foyers and kitchens in the morning, I guess it would have been nice if they had been more isolated, but not too bothersome.

Stayed here two nights and had a pleasant stay. Staff is great. The rooms & bathrooms are clean (we had an en-suite). Location can't be beat. There is a nice breakfast and thankfully, they run it later for us lazy guests. Not much more I can say except that it was the second time I stayed here so I definitely recommend this place.

I enjoyed my stay at H.I. Chicago Hosted tremendously! I felt welcome and safe. The hotel is very clean and the building is beautifully remodeled. During my stay, there was freezing cold weather in Chicago but all the areas in the hostel (rooms, aisles, 2nd floor common areas) were nicely heated which was wonderful! The nice breakfast was an extra bonus which I enjoyed. I would return to H.I. Chicago any time and can firmly recommend it.
