Santa Monica may not be in the centre of Los Angeles, but it's the beachfront heart of the city.
We’re located just a short distance from LAX airport and this is a convenient connection to any part of the city. It’s a very safe area with beautiful weather and friendly people. We’re one block from the beach and you can walk to endless pubs, shops, restaurants and entertainment. Jump on a bus and you can visit the world famous Hollywood area and walk among the stars.
Along with all the ways to keep yourself entertained around the area, the hostel also offers many fun organized activities. From infamous pub crawls, comedy nights, pasta night, trips to the Getty Museum and Dodger games. We provide guided, inexpensive ways to enjoy the city.
And, if you just want to relax, then hang out in the hostel itself. We have comfortable common areas, a full kitchen, courtyard, free Wi-Fi and a TV room. There are plenty of spaces to meet other travellers and enjoy the laid back lifestyle that is Southern California. Here, you don't need to send a postcard back home, just send a picture!

I think that what Hostelworld guests like most about our property is our cool location, just a block from Santa Monica beach and pier and a block from shopping and great restaurants at the Third Street Promenade and Santa Monica Mall. The Getty Museum is just a bus ride away. Personally, I recommend that our guests visit Jinky's next door for an awesome breakfast.

For fun we have a lot of activities going on, like BBQs, pasta nights, comedy, salsa, poker nights and more. I really think we have the best of both worlds here - if you want to socialise you can join our group activities, and if you want to chill out on your own you can relax in our casual, modern, warm common areas.

If you don't mind paying a lot to sleep in a hostel that feels like an army camp this is the place to stay. The rooms are simple, clean and the bathroom is shared by about 50 others. It has all the required facilities but you must pay for everything additional. Computers, lockers etc, all extra.

This property has a 1 day cancellation policy.Failure to cancel within this time will result in a cancellation charge equal to the first night of your stay.
Things to Note
Hostelling International is a non-profit membership based organization. Non-members will be asked to pay $3 temporary membership fee per night upon check-in.
Occupancy taxes are not included.
Guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Maximum stay is 14 nights during each calendar year. No extensions will be granted and guests may not make back-to-back reservations.
If you are making a reservation for more than one guest we will try our best to keep you in the same room; however, it will depend on our availability at check-in time.
Please be aware that we will verify the validation of your credit card ahead of your arrival. If your credit card declines, your reservation will be cancelled.
Accommodation is only available to travellers living outside the Los Angeles County Area.
Please note that we do not accept group bookings for nine or more people. Group bookings for nine or more people will be automatically cancelled and the deposits will not be refunded.
