As instalações do albergue são bem antigas, perguntamos pras duas pessoas da recepção a respeito de aluguel de carro e de um show que aconteceria na cidade e não tivemos muita ajuda.

Many young people from all over the world. We were glad that we had the only private room.

The only good thing about this hostel was the location (1 block from the beach and a big grocery store across the street), and a really helpful staff member Trinadad. Everything else was bad. ie. NO RUNNING WATER :( At times you couldn't shower, flush the toilet, wash your hands, wash dishes, or do laundry. It was ridiculous. Admittedly it was carnival, but unacceptable to over vacate the property without ample facilities for everyone to use. Never stay here unless you have to.

The downstairs womens toilets are too small. Seems like a trivial thing, but was super annoying. Also I had a cockroach on my thigh at night. Then again those are usually around everywhere, but anyhow... The staff and all tour information was in Portuguese when I was there. Fortunately I can get by, but it would be nice if the tour info would be also in English. Breakfast was excellent!

I loved the stay there. I just dont liked the fact that i went away from the albergue some days before my check out, and i left like a week before a note of that situation, and they didnt reimburse those days that were unused by me.

Chaotic front desk. (The beach in Barra is a dirty garbage can)

I really enjoyed my experience at the hostel Albergue do Porto. The staff is so nice, the rooms have perfect space and the wc's are clean enough to feel confortable. The location is perfect and the prince is fair! ;)

The staff were very friendly and helpful and the hostel had a good vibe. The hostel is very well located with buses connecting to the ferry port as well as the historical centre. The hostel was relatively clean but the mattresses were very thin and hard. The only difficulty was that we needed to amend our travel dates and having emailed the hostel on several occasions we got no response and had some trouble amending the dates on arrival due to `"late notice".
