We stayed in two different rooms during our 4 night stay - a double private room and a private bunk room. Both were good. The onsite Cougar Pete's serves average food which worked well when we arrived late on our first night. Free parking is good as it's a little distance from the town. Didn't use it but the kitchen was a good size with dining area next to it. There always seemed to be a queue at the reception desk but once available, staff were helpful.

Stayed in a private cabin and it was much nicer than expected. Very clean and comfortable. It was a little difficult to find parking because the lot was full, but the local bus stops just down the street. Overall, a great stay. Nicer and more private than any hotel we could've chosen in the area for the price.
Really enjoyed my stay here although having to get the bus in and out of town grew tiresome after a while as the house could be unreliable and run every 40 mins. But the location is beautiful with great views of tunnel mountain and trails that lead away from the mountain. The facilities are good and clean with a nice lounge area and fantastic kitchen. The dorms were good and the atmosphere was fun. Definitely recommend as I think it's great value for money considering Banff prices.
Helpful staff and very clean.
we stayed in a twin bed room. the room is clean and bed is comfortable. the communal bath and kitchen area are very clean. location is good and close to town and many hikings.
Very nice and friendly stuff, and a good restaurant. The double room was a very small though for keeping two luggages in.

The hostel is very big and lots of guests there seem to be on a working holiday. Location is far up a hill and so it is difficult to get into town if you don't have a car. Also, this hostel should have a couple of water boilers in the kitchen so people may quickly boil water without using the stoves. They are cheap, quick, efficient, and don't take up burners. The electric burners they have now are slow and inefficient: it takes forever to boil water or to warm up.
Had a great weekend stay. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
I only had one issue with the restaurant , Cougar Pete's . I believe that when you have a complaint about the food for reasonable things as a hair, that it should have been handled differently. I had said complaint and it was not handled the was that I thought that it should be. The waitress took my plate back after I showed her the hair, with no apology or anything. It was disgusting and I was not impressed.
