Good location, shared dorm was ok. Bathroom that was near our dorm was ok but downstairs one was disgusting. There was a large group of people there at same time we stayed and they had messed the bathroom and it had been left that way - the smell etc was revolting. Good location, shared dorm was ok. Only spent one night there (a saturday) - was driving the next day so not drinking a lot, most people went out - plenty of details of bars posted on notice boards. A good & cheap hostel right where you want to be. Basic and clean with everything you need. Lockers in the room make it that bit safer. The staff were helpful with directions and welcoming. The location is good, however there are a lot of homeless people who hang around outside which can make the hostel feel unsafe, especially as the front door is not locked during the day. Being an HI hostel it was very clean. Great space in the basement with a pool table and massive tv, also outside with hammocks. Location wasn't the greatest with homeless beggars outside and it is on the edge of downtown, although you can get the free C train a few blocks down. Would stay again.
