HI Calgary City Centre Reviews

Enjoyed the experience very much. We found it well organised, well ran and had a very pleasant stay. We would certainly use it again and recommend it to others.

Very awesome and nice people

Comfy sleep, clean amenities, excellent water pressure and central location (even though the surroundings may be a bit dodgy) - all the things that a backpacker needs.

The staff of the hostel was more than helpful in fulfilling every need of their guests. This was my first hostel, and I have to say that the experience was more than satisfying.

In general everything is OK, but the staff make a great difference! kudos! I also like the cooler water in a hot day :D

It was my first time in Calgary and I felt like I always knew these people , I had the Best of my time at this place . I would always love to come back and stay here once in a while . Clean , Hygienic and comfortable place for leaving . Good and healthy breakfast for no . Warm and Friendly staff who is always ready to help you at any time of the day or night . What more do you expect from a hostel ? but Even if you expect they are there to full fill your expectation .

The staff was awesome ! Thanks for all the info. super welcoming. Super clean hostel. Wish the free breakfast was served until 11h00am but at that point I guess it would almost be considered lunch hahah. Looove the sunny backyard/patio.

Clean & cozy, eco-conscious, atmosphere is fun and alive. Some guests retiring late talk loudly, & you hear the trains if windows are open, but we generally slept well. Can upgrade to private room for about $10. Price includes breakfast & fresh pancakes: batter & griddle provided, cooking done by you. Close to down town Calgary & trains can check in around the clock. Hostel provides map & much info re: things to do, where to eat, etc. Go for breakfast early as some food items run out.

Nice stay! The Staff-Team offered us another room when we told them that one guy was snorring. But there have been a lot of old people, so if u want to party, this may not be the right place to stay!

The receptionist staff are very friendly and informative. The environment is clean and the location is perfect within reach to downtown Calgary.

A welcoming hostel with a homely feel, loved the couches in the common area and the free pool table. For me there were too many Canadians who are there long term looking for work or working. As a traveler I would have liked more people to explore the city with and do the tourist stuff. Good sized bedrooms with lockers you can fit everything into. Close to the city centre and train lines.

Enjoyed our stay. An amazing free breakfast with coffee, muffins, toast, pancakes an fruit! Only downside was there seemed to be a lot of long termers (not backpackers).

Visiting Calgary for a conference, I decided to save some money and stay at the hostel. As I already had a HiHostel Card, it was very in expensive, clean, with friendly staff, good facilities and breakfast included. The best part though, was that I was a 15 minute walk from everything in down town. Except for those willing to pay $150+ a night to stay right in down town, I was closer to my conference than anyone else.

The very first day I landed in to the land of Grizzle beers and crude Oil , I was little worried about the Stay . But the review and rating which i had seen for HI calgary was so good that I didnt even think about going any where else.This is a fantastic place to stay with in the city with excellent amenities and good environment. The atmosphere is very clean and hygienic. Situated hardly couple of blocks from city center and well connected with other part of the city with the Train lines.

A fabulous location for reaching all parts of Calgary, however it is in one of the more "up-and-coming" parts of the city. I didn't experience any problems, nor should you expect any!, but do lock your car at night.

Good clean hostel in good location. Free breakfast useful. Big kitchen and plenty of places to sit and socialise. Good security with individual lockers for each bed in dorms. Lots of stuff available but you have to keep asking the front desk for it which can get abit tedious (examples: to get towels, tin opener, hot chocolate)

i really enjoyed staying here and i stay to always come back when am in calgary. It's a very accommodation, everyone willing to help.

Very lovely hostel. Staff are great. They have great specials for multiple nights. Staff are friendly. Location is fantastic!
