For those willing to stay downtown, it is a good option. Very young crowd somehow still quiet enough to sleep. Funky smell from sowage came up from the shower water drain... downtown problems and pros.
It's a good hostel, but not a great place if you want to meet other international travelers. It's mostly Brazilians staying there, so unless you speak Portuguese it will be hard to socialize. Downtown is also not very interesting, so unless you have an early bus to catch, you're better off staying in one of the hostels closer to the beach.
Great location 15 minutes walk from the bus station & 5 minutes from the promenade on Beira-Mar Norte (great for a sunset stroll or run) where there are plenty of bars & restaurants. The hostel is fairly basic but comfortable and we both slept well. The communal area is a reasonable size with a couple of small sofas & tables & chairs both inside & on the balcony. The guest kitchen is small with a 4 ring cooker, a fridge and a cupboard with pots & plates but no real storage for dry food.
Nice location, nice lobby, nice sitout in the 1st floor. pathetic tissue rolls, sometimes there were no toilet rolls.
Great place just a walk from the downtown district. It was the off season, so very quite. Place would go off in busy season.
There was no TV on, or any computer available for use.
