This hostel is a wonderful find in Ilha Grande in an authentic jungle atmosphere. The rooms are spacious and clean, beds comfy! Breakfast is amazing and staff are really friendly. It's about a ten minute walk to the pier but that's perfect to get away from all the noise and people. Great stay would definitely recommend.

Nice, calm location a bit out of the busiest part of the town. The hostel itself is beautiful and has comfy hammocks. Good basic breakfast as well. The only annoying was the night guard, who obsessively was going after my friend and I and threatning us with police cuz we talked to loud - there was still other people around laughing and talking as 'loud' as we did..

Situated in a beautiful location, a few streets up from the main centre, the "hostel" is basically a group of bungalows. The 6 bed dorm consists of 2 beds downstairs and 4 bed upstairs, which is a bit weird, it makes sleeping downstairs feel like being in a twin room with the person next to you... Really nice breakfast and handy laundry service! The place is ideal if you're travelling with a small group, but it's not the best place to meet other individual travellers.

A beautiful hostel located in the jungle no more than 10 mins away from anything in Ilha grande (people stressing about the walk need to chill out, you clearly haven't come to undertake any hikes). Only problem was a complete lack of sociable atmosphere. A fantastic place to use as a base to do some of ilha grandes activities/ if you go with a group of people but as a solo traveler I found it very hard to meet anyone as it is super chilled the whole time (eg. Netflix in a hammock on sat night)!!

Lovely place to stay, 5 min walk to the village, clean rooms, nice area, outside kitchen to cook with other travellers. I would definitely go back.

Nice hostel, just 5min uphill of the village center. Good location and breakfast! Nice stuff but language barriers might exist if you don't speak Spanish or Portuguese. Generally a safe place but iPhone, camera and cash got stolen from my travel buddies (being locked in the locker).

We enjoyed our stay here for the price we THOUGHT we were paying. BUT unfortunately, when we left and checked our bank statement- we were over charged. We then checked the website and it turns out we were charged the correct amount but on check in, we were quoted a cheaper price. We paid by card so hadn't noticed. It was way over our budget and we would not have stayed here if we had been told we would be paying that amount. Very annoyed. The kitchen space was also tiny, and no wifi at all.

HI Holandes is one of my favourite Hostels during a long travel in Brazil. Wonderful people taking care of you, great location, if you like it quiet and relaxed and the comfort for the money is excellent. Only Wi-Fi was a bit weak but this way you can even more enjoy the beautiful environment.

The walk isn't that bad and means you're right on the edge of the jungle which is cool. Great beds and given towels (amazing), very good breakfast, cute kittens to cheer you up. No kitchen, well one hob that is all. Toilet/shower ensuite in the dorm therefore wakes everyone up in the morning. A little bit quiet but overall very good and would stay there again.

Beautiful hostel. Comfortable beds. Amazing breakfast. Kitchen facilities weren't great. One member of staff we met spoken English but most spoke Portuguese. Very clean hostel. Would recommend good value for money on ilha grande.

Definitely the best hostel in Ilha Grande! It's very chilled, the staff is always attentive and help you with anything you need. The rooms and bathrooms are always very clean. Full of hammocks to relax. Great place to meet people.

Loved our little bungalow hut! This place is a little further out but the resort is so small that everything is easily reached in no time. Breakfast was epic - best cake ever! Staff are nice but didn't really get involved so much but were helpful when you asked them anything. Guest kitchen is tiny, staff kitchen is huge but cannot ever be used so didn't even bother cooking there. It's a shame they don't let you use it in the evening, but there's plenty of places to eat nearby. Very relaxing!

Excellent hostel in Ilha Grande's main village. Hidden away from the center of the village on a gentle slope, this hostel is very spacious and cozy with some comfortable hammocks! Staff isn't the greatest but this is compensated by its unique location and atmosphere. Dorms are very clean and the beds are fairly comfortable, breakfast is as you would expect in Brazil.
