A nice hostel in the hills away from the hustle and bustle. A bit of a walk in the rain but otherwise fine. Wonderful breakfast of fruit, cereal, cake, ham and cheese rolls, juice, and good coffee. Very clean rooms. Only con was no soap in the bathrooms.

Awesome! This hostel is so relaxing and serene. It's located in the treetops and has such a chilled vibe! Wifi works fine. People are all really nice. Rooms are good! Would come back again

I really loved my room, it was like a family house , great breakfast, with laundry service and above all friendly and helpful staff. I even got to practice my little Portuguese :)

This is a very nice hostel if you like a relaxed stay on Ilha Grande. The small houses are located in a semi-forest environment which gives it a nice atmosphere. Breakfast could be better, unless you like cake. Cake is the main component of the breakfast, haha.

Clean hostel in a peaceful setting. The location is easy, only hard part is getting up there with your bag in the first trip but after that the walk is easy. Very chilled atmosphere, but suits the setting. Wifi was really poor/ non existent which was frustrating at times.

Talked to loads of others I met on ilha grande and hollandes was definitely the best hostel to stay in, especially as it's one of the cheapest! Amazing atmosphere, great dinners and breakfasts and the free water filter was great. Staff were lovely but only one could speak English which was annoying! Wifi was dododgey but probably best on the island... And hot water! Whereas some people complained their hostel actually ran out of water full stop! Amazing amazing, wish I could go back!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Holandes! There was a really nice atmosphere & we were particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the hostel, in both the common areas and the rooms. The breakfast was fantastic with a great selection of fruits and teas/juices... rather than just the usual bread rolls and ham. They also put on a buffet dinner during the week for 18 reals each - it was absolutely delicious! Definitely have it at least one night! Overall, we had a great stay, reccomended!

All rooms were very clean with comfy beds and with everything you may need. Great breakfast with loads to choose from, with limited cooking facilities but sufficient for making basic dinners. Location is a little out of the centre but only 10 minutes walk max and the hostel is set in really nice and quiet surroundings. Wifi not great but worked on and off - no worse than anywhere else is South America! Staff really helpful too.

Nice hostel. With a chilled vibe and hammocks everywhere! Not far from main port and restaurants.

Nice hostel, very comfortable beds. Wifi didn't work, one receptionist (there is one at a time) wasn't interested in the wifi problem at all and couldn't speak English at all.

This hostel is a bit of a walk away from town but i think its location is its best asset. Away from everything up on the hill surrounded by jungle it is gorgeous. Fantastic breakfast of bread, ham, cheese, cereal, cakes, juice, coffee and tea. Staff were very friendly. We stayed in a private villa which was really nice.

Ok place to stay. A bit expensive thoug but we had also a bad luck to hit there during the carnaval season. The dorm was ok and clean. Breakfast was not the best but not the worst either during our stay in brazil. Wifi was working maybe 10 minutes during our 4 night stay. Of course in the island you really dont need internet but at least to be able to check your emails once a day would have been nice.

Clean rooms, comfy beds, lockers in rooms, great breakfast, water filter, great common areas. Staff very friendly but didn't speak English very well and it is a bit of a walk from the pier.
