good hostel, very clean and nice rooms. It is a bit far fro the beach (10 - 15 minute walk). They only have one computer for guests and the internet connection is very slow, which is sometimes a bit annoying, as many people are waiting to check their e-mail.

A little bit far from the main town. I know it´s been said before, but once you get there, it´s not the walk that is the problem, it´s just that there are other hostels that are right on the water, and that would have been nicer, I think.

Doesn´t sound good: tiny kitchen, staff aren´t that helpful, no wifi and computer barely works, located quite far away... BUT we really liked it! Rooms and breakfast were great, it´s cheap, its nice and chilled out, and you´re in the jungle. Highly recommended.

Great outdoor area, hammocks, nice beds, although I stayed in a 10 bed room it didn't feel that big (separation wall in the middle of the room). a couple of minutes walk to the "city center" but not a problem at all, safe to walk back at nights.

I really enjoyed my stay at Holandes Hostel. At first it seemed somewhat far from the town center, but this wasnt really a problem since the town is really small. The hostel is in the forest, which is really nice. Also it is very clean and the staff is nice (allthough they only speak Portuguese..). Breakfast is excellent, with home-made cake! The only downside is the small guest kitchen...

Handsome place to stay and very clean rooms and bathrooms. Breakfast not that good in my opinion. A little smile on the staff's faces would be a plus! Anyway I would definitely recommend the place because it's lovely. A little hard to access with wheeled luggage.

Hostel is really great, only the kitchen is very very small for so many people.y And if you need internet - forget about it, computer is old like hell and works soooo sloooow . The staff is nice but if you have any questions don't bother asking a guy at the reception desk, wait untill girl will come. BUt generally hostel is really good

The best thing about this hostel is the breakfast - without doubt the best we have had in over 5 months of hostels. Location also really good - no where near as difficult to find as some other reviews suggest - just ask people as you go along - everyone knows where it is. Only major downsides are the lack of comfortable chill out areas (there are a few hammocks) and the smallest kitchen i have ever seen which made cooking all our own meals somewhat difficult. Would recommend.

We really likes this place! It is a really good place to meet people with a big kitchen area were almost all guest cooking food together every night. The doorms are clean and nice - but most importante; very clean cheats and towels! All of the staff are portugees and only are speaking english, but she was there almost all the time so that was not a problem. She was really helpful and helped us with time tables for the boat, plans for next destination, calling hostels etc.

We are 4 students in Rio and this was just the perfect place to get out of city madness, a real jungle lodge for the price of an hostel. Staff was really welcoming and helpful.

Beautiful, tranquil setting, a world away from the busy town if you're looking for some peace & quiet. Marcella & the staff were always very friendly & more than willing to help us. Rooms, lockers etc good value, Had issues with the toilet but fixed straight away. Lots of little extras - eg water filtrator, superb hammocks, great breakfast. No wifi, very small kitchen. We stayed an extra night!

The hostel could be so much better with a little bit of work. Not having any internet connection is a big problem and even though evening meals were advertised on the website and in the hostel, none were available. The kitchen is too small for a busy hostel. The place was clean though and had a good layout.

Very nice and helpful staff. The doube rooms aka chalets are adorable. Hummingbirds are flying around you while you're spending your breakfast (which is also great!). I absolutely recommend it.
