This is the best hostel I had ever been to. Very neat and clean. With very good facilities and convenient location. Home like kitchen and very good breakfast. The local people or staff and even the room mates were very friendly. I got to make good friends and share our experiences. Thanks

The location was perfect for where I needed to be. One bus straight downtown and a grocery store right on the corner made shopping and making my own meals very convenient. The rooms were neat and cleaned daily. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Only thing I didn't appreciate was that the front door, although equipped for key card access, was not locked after a certain time. I came in at 3am one evening and thankful someone was at the desk, but door was not locked. Other than that...GREAT!

Good hostel, probably the best your going to get in the USA. Nice old building in a neighbourhood about 5mins from downtown by bus. One point though, the building needs better security, there were no lockers in the 4 bed dorm, nor was there a lock on the dorm door, or a lock on the balcony door and the front door was unlocked with none of the staff checking whether people entering were actually staying at the hostel

This place is awesome!!! As soon as I walked in I knew it was going to be excellent. Great staff and Grace, the General Manager, is perfect for the place. Its located in the Montrose area with cool eclectic houses, fun/funky bars and an atmosphere that made me fall in the with it. The Hostel reminds me of early 1900 design but don't let that fool you. It has all the modern conveniences that you need minus an on call masseuse. I'm totally recommending this place to all my friends that visit!!!

In five days, they never clean the room or made the beds. The staff didnt provide information about the distance to the NASA even when we asked they send us in bus but during weekends the bus is not running... so we had to pay a taxi (120 usd round trip !!!!) really not a very good experience!!

Really nice place with a lot of character! Basically, an old villa-style building which is redesigned into a hostel with lots of room for hanging out. Included an easy but really sufficient breakfast!

They started very bad with us by not having anyone in the reception when we arrived (late, but we informed previously we would), but at the end they got it more than covered by all the friendly staff, great location, super clean place in a great house.

Thanks to the Rich Family who initiated this remarkable hostel the HI Houston or Morty Rich Hostel has become very special because of the building, the interiour, and the character. Among the facilities I miss the internet access, but there is one at the public library downtown. library is downtown.
