Nice enough hostel, but sham it's a bit out of town and no shops nearby etc - shuttle is good, but finishes early and then it's quite a long walk. Wi-go would have been good, but did have one computer available for use. Views are great and close to good walk up the mountain.

Great for backpackers, but it's quite far from the town.

To bad the hostel is not in the centre of Jasper. Kitchen tools are missing, cups, knives, ...

The man at the reception, Ben, an Aussie, was great! Some people playing cards were VERY loud, although they quieted before quiet time. Later there was a lot of thumping from above the co-ed dorm. I had stayed at Rampart Hostel the night before and my experience there was magical. I was at Hi-Jasper last year and it gets a bit busy but that is to be expected because of its location. Hi-Jasper was just fine for one night though. Needs a better variety of cutlery, pots, pans and dishes.

i did not like that when i booked using HOSTELWORLD i was told one price then when i got there i was told it was some member price and was charged an extra 30 bucks. that suck and leaves a very bad taste about this place and HOSTELWORLD really wish this problem would get fixed or have the pricing as nonmember pricing so when you get there if your a member great you get a discount not surprise you owe us more money!!!!!

I was pleased to see the clean bedding being offerred as well as extra warm blankets being available. Washroom was very clean with plenty of hot water available for showers. This is not a first time for me but has been about 20 years since my last visit and reliability remains unchanged. Unfortunately for me I accidentally chose a bed in the large ladies dorm that was just on the other side of the common room wall so was kept awake bu late night conversations.

Staff made the stay very enjoyable, and the atmosphere reminded me of summer camp all over again :)

It is a very nice place to stay. However, the dorms were a little bit cold, and even though the idea of letting the wintershoes outside is quite good, they were very cold on the mornong. Maybe warm the place, or let the poeple put them in the entrance.
