Top-notch and world class hostel. Expertly organized. I've hosteled across Europe (over 50 hostels). This is one of the best. Provides excellent information on great trail hikes and even has a travel board so you can hitch a ride along with some new friends on a hike. I've seen a lot of hostels guys, and I'm telling you this is one of the best if you want to make friends, enjoy Canada's nature, and have an awesome home base. Don't stay less than 2. If you are a sad sack stay away! :)

The restaurant next to it is actually quite good though the service is extremely slow. However, can't really blame them since there are always too few people working.

Being my first time I was immensely impressed with everything. I truly enjoyed the youthful, friendly staff and their international flair allowed a banter to gain an insight into their lives. Their service was of the most highest caliber.. The 'cabin-like' atmosphere of the hostel and the 'great room' and fireplace fulfilled my lost dream of owning a place in the wilderness..Thank you!

Terrible Mattress. I've had better at way cheaper hostels. I had a sore back the next day ..and I'm 22.

Hello Bridget, Thanks so much for your feedback. Sorry for the sore back. We are aware of our mattress situation and are trying very hard to acquire new ones. If we had our way, those mattresses would've been long gone, unfortunately we need approval before making such a large purchase. Hopefully this is remedied soon. Beautiful hostel. It was probably just the particular upstairs neighbors we had, but I barely slept a wink because of the consistent stomping. The staff were friendly though and I'd definitely stay again!

Hello Nicole, Thanks so much for your review and comments! Next time you are here we can help you if you experience this situation again. We have a Night Security Agent working overnight and it's their job to enforce our quiet hours. Although, they can't always hear the noises when they happen - as they may be on the other side of the building or in the second building. But they can always be reached by the telephone at front desk or, if you carry a cellphone with you, you could copy the Night Security pager number down before you go to bed and call them from your room if there is a disturbance. Great hostel, friendly staff, well maintained, clean. The beds seemed to be about fifty years old however. Extremely uncomfortable.

Hi Jannis, Thanks for your review! I remember that you stayed with us for quite some time. I very happy you enjoyed you stay. There's definitely more partying going on in Banff... Parks Canada would never let any bar strip open up here in Lake Louise!

Good, friendly staff. Rooms were clean and good with swipe card access. Restaurant had a good menu and were very quick and efficient. Downside internet access not widespread through hostel- only available in room. Would stay again

Hello Nicole! Thanks so much for your review! I totally agree. Of late, our WIFI has been very frustrating. BUT... I finally managed to get a technician into our building and he has since fixed the problem. I guess that's the downside to being so removed from urban life. So we now have WIFI working everywhere. Just keep in mind it will never be as fast as it is in the big city. Otherwise, I'm pleased you enjoyed your stay! Ryan Murfitt Assistant Manager

Really lovely Hostel in my opinion, right at the village road. Small kitchen but not many people in there so still big enough for a few at the same time. Nice common rooms.
