We arrived in Las Vegas at 2am. Althought we had notified the "hostel" about our late arrival, it was closed. We found 2phone numbers provided for this case. One of them wasn't answered, the other refused to help and shut the phone down. After calling them several times and waiting half an hour in the cold(and not very nice neighborhood) we left and stayed in another hotel. Our complain was never answered.

Unhelpful staff, poor standard of beds and mattress'. Also it's a motel not a hostel. No atmosphere whatsoever. Over charged me and when I left after the first night I couldn't get a refund on the second night that I'd booked which isn't bother me too much bit seemed a little unreasonable.

The only good marks I'd give this hostel was staff professionalism and daily housekeeping. Otherwise, there was no security and on more than one occasion I witnessed riff raff coming in off the downtrodden streets and causing trouble. Older building, moldy smell in reception- I didnt notice it much in my room. Building has an "empty" vibe to it, rate I paid I felt was a bit overpriced, the 3.00 non HI addition seems to figure in after one or 2 nights. I checked out early.

It is the best located hostel in Las Vegas for sure! You can get to the airport by bus ($2) and to the casinos and Fremont Street by Deuce bus ($8 unlimited rides for 24 hours). The staff is nice. The breakfast is really poor, but for that price is more than ok. It is not a good place to know other travelers, though. There were many weird local people living there. It's not a "backpackers only" place. But it seems to be a common problem of all hostels in Vegas.
