Nice little hostel close to the Monterey Aquarium. Plenty of parking so rent a car and drive on over. Very nice living room and free pancake breakfast. On Sunday's the owner picks up some eggs and brings them for breakfast. Water needs to be conserved so they have shower tokens, and you can always ask for more. Only downside I've had here is that the staff may be hard to find after 10pm, as the front desk closes.

There's really no competition for what they offer in the region and so they could offer less and get away with it. Luckily for us they have planned well and offer much. This is definitely not a party hostel, but what did you expect? Monterey is hardly a party city. I really can't understand how anyone could be disappointed because this was place they came to drink all night. The draws are hiking, biking and aquatics, and those are all best/possible early in the day or at least during it.

This is one of the nicest hostels I've ever stayed at! The most frustrating thing about staying there was definitely the curfew and weird hours. I understand why you close during the day for cleaning, but the curfew was aggravating, as I was locked out one night and had to sleep in my car. No bueno. Besides that, the bathrooms are clean, the four minute showers did not bother me, and the beds were THE MOST comfortable I've ever slept in besides my own!

Good Hostel, very clean, secure, good location, but not a party hostel. For just a stop during a road trip, it's excellent.

The hostel itself was absolutely ok. Had a large living room seemed rather friendly. Still, the staff was very incompetent. They managed my canceled booking and the new one wrongly and said it was hostelworld's fault though i explained it couldn't (as later verified) as data here is correct. Neverthess, they made me pay for the first one though i suspect they saw their mistake but were booked out so pretended to be innocent themselves.. Very rude and Poor!
