Not worth it for over 26 year olds without HI membership. Their page on hostelworld is not clear with regards to extra costs. Be aware that if you are over 26 without HI membership, it is an extra 4 euro surcharge for your age plus 3.10 euro for not being a HI member, per night. My locker did not work and after raising this and receiving another key, that locker did not work either. The 6 bed dorm is too small. On the plus side, the free breakfast is good and the place is very clean.

I really liked HI munich. It is in a cute neighbourhood that is a few metro stops for Munich hopbanhauf. The rooms and bathrooms were clean. And the breakfast had a variety of options! But it was a bit pricey. But overall a good stay

HI-Munich City was a nice hostel, just very average. The room was nice and had a sink which was helpful. No wifi in the rooms which was a pain. The shared bathroom wasn't that great, but it was clean. The breakfast included was delicious and very filling. It was decent, but nothing special.

Location was good not excellent. Because I only wished it was in the hearth of the old downtown. Nevertheless, it has very easy access, as one needs to take the U-bahn (metro) from downtown and go 3 stops to get there. And by walk it takes like 2 min from the stop to get into the hostal. It's about 2 blocks from the closest metro station, which comes in very handy. If you need to bread, medicines, a supermarket, etc. The neighborhood where it is, has all of this, like a small downtown.

Like everyone said, this is a traditional youth hostel with very cold lighting. It makes you feel lonely. However it is clean and the facilities are in good condition. One thing I really have to praise them is their excellent breakfast. You cannot find a better breakfast (which is included for free) for a price like this!!! The location is good, just 3 min. walk till u-bahn station, and right next to supermarket. Parking nearby is tricky. Although it is free, but you have to try your luck
