Great hostel in the center of Ouro Preto! Nice staff and wonderful panoramic views over the city! Furthermore, its clean and well equipped!

Really nice place with a great view over the city, particularly if you get a room with a balcony. The staff are really friendly but only speak Portuguese. They are very patient when explaining things though! The homemade cakes for breakfast are a real treat

This hostel is located a little outside of city center. At night it is a safe walk, so don't worry, but be prepared to walk the cobblestones on steep streets. It is really charming actually, but be aware. At the time I was in this hostel (Carnival 2013), there was no english speaking staff!! No information was available (trips, citymap etc.). WiFi signal quality was poor in the common room. Kitchen, breakfast and common room were OK - nicely on top of this beautiful town.

It's an "OK" hostel. Not worth to stay much longer than one or two nights. They call it an International Hostel" but the staff speaks portuguese only.

Good Hostel! The location its great, easy to find with a awesome view! I just think the staff a bit confused or slow, but no more big problems.

I found some problems. Staff very slow to help you, they didn't have change for your money ever, water for the shower in the room 3 was cold, the lockers didn't have deadlocks.

A quite nice hostel with a great view from the terrace for breakfast ! It is not right in the center (but very closed to) so its very peaceful. The double bed rooms are small but okay with their own bathroom.

Staff should learn how to speak english!!! It is an international HI hostel. Internet didnt work as well and there were no people to refuel the empty breakfast

Too far away from the bus station and instructions aren’t clear, so you can get lost in Ouro Preto! The best way for arriving is to take a taxi! We were four people and booked a 4-beds room. The room was very small and crowded and its door didn’t close – there wasn’t even a key! It seemed to me a lack of security. Reception staff doesn’t give any information about the city. On the other hand, breakfast is very good; there’s a very kind lady who bakes different breads and cakes at the moment.

Directions to the hostel were not particularly helpful, but the location is ok. Our room was clean and we had a great view out over town. The mattress was awful, sinking in the centre (we should have complained and changed rooms). Staff were friendly (and stretched...only 1 person per shift to look after all aspects of the hostel) but couldn't give us much tourist orientated information about the town. Breakfast was fair.

It's bit far from center. There is excellent kitchen with nice view to old town. Breakfast was good and hostel was clean. The biggest problem was lady which couldn't speak and understand a word in English, and hardly understood my Spanish. If you'll go there learn some words in Portuguese ;-)

it is totally overpriced. staff does not speak a word of english. it is very hard to get to, you definitely need a taxi and still have to climb some stairs. if you want to store your luggage they charge you 5 reais!

You have a stunning view from the kitchen. The rooms are oke but the matrasses are a bit old . Showers are hot. Value for money

Lovely views, directions to Hostel not very clear, we had to ask a lot on way down. Staff friendly, and the views!!! If you can splash out a bit more, pick a superior, they have balconies. Its basic but the price reflects it and we thought it was excellent value, good breakfast and well equipped kitchen
