Overall a decent hostel. Security was quite poor - the front gate is rarely closed so anyone can just walk in. If someone in your room opens the balcony door then it can be easily accessed from five other rooms. Location was picturesque but far from tourist area. Staff were OK overall but, strangely, seem to leave the phone ringing for minutes at a time whilst sitting there. Doesn't help the atmosphere. More of a family/ school group place than backpackers. Some good facilities including pool
The bathroom had some doors broken. And the swimming pool stay open just few months.
Overall does a good job. Not a very good location, away from the water and downtown. There were many beds and rooms but only a few other guests in the entire hostel when we went.
It's a youth hostel that meets many prejudices one might have against youth hostels: It might be good for big groups of kids, but for individual travellers it's not exactly cosy because of oversized facilities, plus it's not centrally located. As it wasn't at all crowded when we stayed there, we had a room for ourselves although we booked a shared one.
