Seemed a bit tight......bed in female dorms was wobbly felt sorry for my bunk mate every time I got down or moved because the bunk itself felt as if it was going to fall apart.....atmosphere excellent and the guest were excellent and staff very helpful and nice.

I don't really have any complaints about this place. It's right next to bus lines, has a very helpful staff, and a free pancake station in the morning. The Ikea bunkbeds were a little uncomfortable, but you get used to that after hostelling for a while.

The hostel we stayed at in Hawthorne was really beautiful & super clean, however the atmosphere & staff was a turn off. We were so grateful to have a roof over our heads at night for the price we were paying & the room mates we had were pretty considerate... but overall, we felt really uncomfortable hanging out at the hostel & around the staff there.

Great location if you're interested in walking around the artsy, funky area of Hawthorne. The hostel was a bit too quiet; not many people socialized and everyone was in bed by 9pm so if you're looking for a peaceful, relaxing night, it's a good fit for you. I loved how environmentally friendly they were, even the toilet water is from collected rainwater!

My only issue with this hostel is that the kitchen is right next to the Willamette Room. Sometimes staff or other hostellers would be up super early and every single thing could be heard in our room. Other than that the hostel was amazing! Loved the community brunch on Sunday! The lockers they provide are in the basement of the hostel, so if you want to keep your personal items safe and locked up, they will be cold the next morning. Important if you bring musical instruments with you!

Staff was very nice and helpful. Location was great, with plenty of wonderful places to eat nearby. We rented bikes from a place nearby (we wanted road bikes) and the location was very easy to travel around from. Only downsides were that the rooms got a bit warm and night, and the mattress left me with more to be desired. Overall, good stay.
