Great location, not very social. Probably due to the character of the building. Nothing $3 beers couldn't fix.

A good hostel. Nice staff. Good location. If you are after a relaxing time in a non-rowdy hostel then this place is good to go to.

I had a fantastic stay at this hostel, even with a roommate that snored loudly at night! (The staff was very accommodating; first by providing me with earplugs and then, when those didn't work, allowing me to sleep in a basement lounge that I zombie-walked to.) Despite the snoring, I'm glad to have met my roommate, and almost everyone that I saw staying at the hostel seemed to be congenial and have a good story to tell. I can't praise the staff enough. And the location was totally amazing!

Felt like I was staying in an old folks home. Maybe it's about time to apply age restrictions.

I had a very comftable stay here, it was quiet and peacefull and the staff were friendly and gave great tailored advice for things to do, but as Portland as a city has such a great charactor, atmosphere and charm I feel that the Hostel could work on it.

It's a great place to make friends and spend a night. It's a bummer that you can't have alcohol inside the hostel, but they have a nice outdoor garden area/ outdoor movie screen so it's no trouble at all in the summertime.

Definitely the best hostel I've stayed in. Amazing place. The resources for things to do/places to eat/etc in Portland were so extensive. You can come to this city knowing nothing about it, spend some time in the common area reading these suggestions, and see everything you need to see. Very clean and quiet too, surprisingly for an 8-bed-mixed. Definitely worth its cost.

pretty neat hostel. The only thing is that your not allowed to drink in the hostel, so not the most social of hostels. But still really nice, and they had some neat activities that were worth checkin out. I would probably come back next time im in Portland

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only downfall was that there was no social interaction between guests. Maybe the hostel needs to organize events that encourage hostel guests to mingle with each other and create a more friendly social environment

It is near Powell's City of Books. It is easy to go to Forest Park and Washington Park. The district has some amazing restaurants! Love the location! And the facilities are good. I love the layout of this house.

The staff was very helpful, the room was clean but the other guests weren't always respectful (which you can't really do much about). The only thing I didn't like was that we were in another building and there were several flight of stairs to climb with the suitcases and all, and no elevator.

Overall it was good, but the room was extremely crammed. There's no elevator and there're stairs everywhere! i had a big suitcase and it was a huge problem! The breakfast was nice and the staff were helpful, though.

Not as much character as I'd expect for Portland especially, but nice historic building, very clean and well-run, and they even have lockers in every room. And it's in a really good location to boot.

Really welcoming and helpful staff. Night out led by mike great! Rooms comfortable , cold at night though! Breakfast very poor! Room was on the ground floor next to reception, quite noisy at times!
