We loved our private room with 3 antique windows overlooking the cobblestone streets. Looking out at ancient architecture and hearing horses clip clopping along below. Our room had a beautiful stone fireplace, ensuite and the pub was a great place to relax and meet other travellers after an evening out on the town.

The hostel does a great job considering its size. A fantastic location, activities, a bar and great breakfast selection make it the place to stay in Quebec City. Things to improve/change; the wifi was a bit hit and miss, the bar should be more of a social hub for the hostel and the heavy doors were very noisy especially when roommates came back late at night.

Nice hostel in a beautiful city

Decent hostel without being amazing. It was central to old Quebec, it had a nice kitchen and the rooms were quite large, it was lacking some character but overall it was ok.

Big rooms, clean bathrooms, nice staff and cool bar. Great to meet other travelers.

Excellent hostel with a great location in the middle of Quebec City's old town. Great common facilities with plenty of room to have your own space. Bar is a cool addition, though it would be good if it were open a bit later into the night. Four room dorm was a little cramped for space but I think the ample space in the rest of the hostel makes up for this. Wifi was okay, a little spotty in places but nothing too bad. Overall a very good experience.

Really big hostel with spacious rooms - but unsociable layout (my bed was tucked away in a corner so I couldn't see anyone else in the room - ok if you just want to sleep, but not the best for making travel buddies). Wifi pretty poor, ok downstairs but more or less useless in room. Bathrooms nice and clean. Can get noisy with crowds in the garden at night. Good bfast selection and great location to the old town. Good activities on offer each day, not v.sociable hostel otherwise good

Great hostel, well placed in old town so you can walk everywhere. Very clean the cleanest hostel I've stayed in so far this trip. Stayed in 8 bed room but layout gives privacy

The facilities were generally great but a little faded and in need of general maintenance. Room was very stuffy. Breakfast was OK. The tour to the Montmorency Falls was lovely.

Excellent hostel, definitely the place to stay in Quebec City! They have a 24 hour desk for easy arrivals, comfy bunks, big locks, and personal lights by each bunch, and a good secure luggage storage room. They also have a huge kitchen in the basement, and the location couldn't be better, right in the heart of old town! I would definitely stay here again.

This hostel was great.... it had an amazing location if you want to tour around the old city and a parking garage just down the street. The hostel was clean and staff was friendly. The only downside is the number of plugs in the room. There were only three for a room of six and could only be used by the person in the bottom bunk.

Great location in Quebec City, right between the Old Town and the nightlife. Made it very easy to walk everywhere.

The HI Hostel's wonderful! Only downside is bringing your own lock to use the lockers: would be great if they would provide that as well. Also, breakfast's too expensive, value for money-wise. Apart from that, a very friendly hostel in a great environment.

Beds not that comfortable

I was surprised by how large the hostel was. It felt like a hotel which took away from the quaint, friendly atmosphere I look forward to at hostels. I found people were not very friendly, it felt very impersonal. If I return to Quebec City I will not stay here again.

Great hostel, clean, nice rooms and perfect patio to sit outside. Location is very nice as well (yes, it is an uphill walk but Quebec City just isn't flat...), in the old town. Would definitely stay here again when in Quebec!
