Amazing hostel! Staff were awesome, great atmosphere, cheap meals and a nice break after a week partying in rio. Easy to get to the national park and the weather is a fair bit cooler than rio. Bedrooms are big, breakfast was pretty good, overall highly recommended!!

This hostel is fantastic. Jean-Charles, the owner, is very welcoming and all the staff very friendly. It is located in an old farm dating from 1741, and there is a swimming pool. Actually, it is more than a hostel. It is also an NGO with an environmental and educational vocation to bring kids in contact with nature. The site is very charming, with very nice trees, plants and flowers, and there are all kinds of animals. There is even a Toucan.

Wifi was decent but broke down for several hours on swcond day due to rain. Hostel is a little far from center and hd to take a bus for half hr from city centre. The hostel is located on a super huge plot of land, u can see animals around like geese and ostrichs and a caged toucan. The receptionist was friendly but her english wasnt too good. At least she used google translate to communicate. The boss was friendly and have us a ride to the bus terminal

This is one of the most unique hostels I have ever stayed in! A huge old Portegues mansion that the owner has lovingly converted into hostel cum nature oasis. The rooms are beautiful, the meals are excellent, the staff are unbelievably helpful - it's like visiting a relative! It's only an hour away from Rio yet it feels worlds apart! Day trips hiking, into the museums and shops or to the brewery are easy. We booked one night-stayed three! Highly recommended!

thanks a lot for all your help, we definitely had a great time there!
