Free breakfast , tea and coffee. Locatation is excellent. Staffs are very nice and halpful. I will back again and recommend to anyone.

Free wifi, free tea and coffee all day and comfy common room - what more could you want. The only problem was having no external window, just a lightwell, but other than that this is a great hostel.

After a delightful first time hostel experience at Hostelling International San Diego downtown, I was looking forward to my stay at HI San Francisco. To say the least, the experience was only better. The staff deserve special mention for their excellent knowledge of SF and their ever helpful attitude. Another thing that had me hooked was the location which being near Union square puts you nicely in the middle of a host of public transport options. To sum up: An exciting and memorable stay!
