The hostel is located in front of the sea. In few minutes of walking we can easly reach girardelly square and the cable car line. Parking are available. Brekfast is nice and room are quite. The restroom and the showers need to be improved (few and not very clean)

I liked the hostel. The staff were always friendly and helpful and there was a nice breakfast in the morning. The location is excellent, it is only a short walk from Fisherman's Warf and you can see Golden Gate Bridge from the back yard. The area is very nice though I felt slightly uneasy when I was on my own after sunset as the street lamps in the area were switched on too late in December.

Brilliant hostel in an ideal location for those wanting to be out of the city but within easy reach of the main attractions. Car parking is a massive bonus too. Very clean, airy rooms and communal areas. More expensive than the average hostel, but definitely worth it.

The kitchen is not clean. The heat didn't work we'll so it is cold in the night.

Beautiful setting, all the female staff were very accommodating, special mention to Jonny and Joshua who went out there way to be helpful with laundry requests and an excellent Jazz club recommendation on Haight I visited a couple of times, the big chap with glasses was also extremely civil though the little blonde fellow was a tad ignorant when I said hello on a couple of occasions but fair play to HI it was a very satisfying stay, highly recommended

Nice location, morning look out over the Bay, alcatraz and Golden gate bridge. Needs more bathrooms and showers, hot water not Working. The free breakfast is a stale bagel and an old banana, not worth it! You can hear everything through the doors, it says the rooms have bathrooms, they do not. Matress was so bad i could feel every spring ang wire in it! Staff was really nice and helpfull, the only good thing about this place! Not worth the money, but then again a hostel should not cost that muc

Great location but uncomfortable beds. Still, wouldn't stop me returning...

During the day location is great, not so much at night, nothing's really close by. Staff was cool, installations clean. The bed wasn't the best.

Really great place to stay; Reminded me of the Villa Hostel in Interlaken switzerland. Nice lounge room with a fireplace in the middle. The only complaint is the room card key kept malfunctioning, and I was locked out of my room frequently and had to keep resetting it at the front desk. Key cards need to have the electronic chip, not a magnetic strip.

Fantastic hostel and very friendly staff. Location is great and historic too as it used to be part of Fort Mason army barracks.

The hostel was great and no real complaints. Its a little far from the city to be a party hostel but was exactly what I was looking for complete with a view from my room of The Golden Gate Bridge

I stayed 6 nights at this place first 3 as part of a tour group and then another 3 independently. The building and its setting is charming and close to Fisherman's Wharf and public transport. WiFi is good but only works in public spaces. Service is friendly and helpful and the on-premises restaurant cooks nice and inexpensive salads, sandwiches and soups. The breakfast is ok but you'll leave hungry unless you buy extra food (provided). My only complaint is the really bad and swampy mattresse

I put everything as average as I arrived at 11pm to be told the hostel was closing at midday the following day due to the government shutdown. I left at 9, so I spent 10 hours there, so I'm not really in a place to judge. I'm told the hostel is well located, and it seemed to be nice enough

Beautiful place, decoration, atmosphere. Very old beds and lack of shelves where one can put his things on.

Was really nice place. Lots of free things organised in the day, but the evenings lacked atmosphere.
