Beautiful place, decoration, atmosphere. Very old beds and lack of shelves where one can put his things on.

Was really nice place. Lots of free things organised in the day, but the evenings lacked atmosphere.

Everyone at the hostel was so nice and helpful. I feel that we got really lucky getting a bed here. My friend and I shared a room with 22 other people and didn't have one complaint. Thank you for everything!

The location is great, it's a 10min walk from Fisherman's Wharf, ideal for exploring the city. We stayed in an 8-bed dorm, beds were good, but the lockers were just below the bottom bunk, very hard to access in some corners and made of wood, not very secure. Proper metal lockers would be nice. Also P L E A S E install more power outlets. This is the 21st century, everybody needs to charge something. 2 outlets per room for 8 people just don't cut it anymore. Otherwise nice.

The breakfast was really poor: 1 bagel, 1 piece of fruit, and a drink is not sufficient..

Just about everything you could ask for in a hostel. Although a moderate walk up-hill from local transit, the hostel is in a beautiful area of the city with a view of Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz that can't be beat. Secure, clean, friendly and helpful staff, good opportunities to socialize, I'll definitely be staying here again.

The location is nice but it is quite a distance from downtown so doesn't have that much of a buzz after dark. I found that people were not very sociable and generally older than the normal hostel crowd. Free parking though!

This is a hidden gem in san fran. Helpful staff. Great tours/activities. AMAZING view of the bay and Fort Mason is a nice retreat from the city. Far from some attractions but SF has a good bus system. Loved it!

Very nice hostel! Location only gets a 'Good' because it really depends on what you want. It is a little way from there to the 'cool' districts but it is directly at the waterside and its rather quiet. So I found it to be perfect but as I said its about what you want.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. They have social events nearly every night which makes it easy for you to find travel company/new friends/just a short chit chat if you want. Also the large well equipped kitchen is great to socialize and save some travel money. The location is awesome. As long as it's daylight. Walking back to the hostel is a little creepy after dark.

Cheap hostel, in a fantastic waterfront location - but don't follow google maps and walk along the sea wall bike path at night to get there, walk in via Franklin Street - much better lighting. 24 bed rooms are huge, but people were pretty good about being quiet. Great under bed lockers. Basic bathrooms, and breakfast is pretty stingy - 1 bagel, 1 cup of coffee and supposedly a piece of fruit that I couldn't see. But it was super cheap.

Very special place. You hear de ships on the background and in the morning there's supposed to be a great view. I have stayed no more than 10 hours in this hostel, but it was a really cool experience. Because it's an old building, the dormrooms tend to get a bit moist during the night, and the showers were a bit dirty for the eye (but were probably clean). I would definately stay here again, and I'd recommend you to do so.

The rooms have too many people, there is no individual power facility for everyone to charge cellphone, laptops, cameras...

This is a great hostel, there is no doubt about that. The location is not centric, but at least you are next to the harbor with great views over the bay, and close to the recreation areas. The facilities were good overall, but my bed was quite bad. Also, I found it pricey considering it is a hostel and a shared accommodation.

location is very good , if you prefer a quiet and beautiful park. for public transportation, you have to walk a little. anyway, this is a nice place to stay.
