Beautifully decorated hostel, nice little toast n tea breakfast. The owner was super helpful in directing me various places when I arrived; some of the other staff I interacted with didn't have great English but they were very friendly regardless. It is right off the Skytrain (when you take exit 4, make a hard right and walk behind the stairs to find the soi), so that helps, but it's still quite far from the old town and all the attractions therein.

Not the most fun hostel, since most people keep to themselves. The location also isn't that thrilling. It's easy to get to from the airport, and it's about a 30 minute journey to the end of the BTS downtown. I wish I had stayed a little closer to downtown, because this hostel felt a little secluded. It's a very quiet neighborhood, if that's your thing. Breakfast was good: coffee, toast, jam.

Plenty of showers, neat dorms & the place was always kept very clean, so I ended up booking another stay in the hostel on my second visit to Bangkok. Only two of the three computers were working though, and had trouble using the wifi on my phone which was the only issue. Otherwise, staff were friendly & helpful and I enjoyed my stay here.

Locker room is not secure because it is always open for everyone. It is annoying that on the third floor there are showers and toilets only for females, whereas on the fourth floor there are less showers and less toilets but for males and females; so if you stay on the third floor and have to use the toilet at night and you are a male you have to go one floor up - unnecessary!

Beautiful Hostel, amazing air con, not much atmosphere though. Good roof terrace, and the staff are very helpful. Not near Kho san road (and its not easy to get to from hostel), but really easy to get everywhere else in Bangkok with the sky train!

Would stay hear again , but would stay in mix Dom. As I found the lady's Dom was to noise late at night, because at 4.30 in the morning is not fair for one lady to start packing and undoing zip and dopping back packs from the top bunk. As I have stayed in Dom before I fell this was really bad at the hi sukhumvit . When poeple stay in Dom it's preflight to do you packing and talking on mobile phone out side the room. But there seem to be no rules set out for this hostel!!!

I really enjoyed my stay here. The location next to the skytrain and Soi 38 night street food are great! I stayed in a 4 person dorm room and had no problems at all. A quick train ride to downtown and the river canal taxis to Khoa san road. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent hostel, comfortable and convenient -- the only problem was bathroom cleanliness as some boorish fellow hostelers did not know how to flush the toilet :(

Oh Lord, I felt like in a bus trip with gramma. If you are younger than 100yo dont stay on this place. No atmosphere of a hostel AT ALL. Get one closer to Siam, the Ping Pong clubs street or close to Khao San Road, much more fun. Expensive for what it is and I emailed them saying I would arrive late and they replied with a "Dont worry be happy" message. Then nobody was there to let me in, and I was lucky cuz a guest was smoking outside then she opened the door for me. They barely speak english!!

Really nice and clean. Awesome location! Only downfall was that you have to enter in a wifi password to use the internet on your laptop, and it kept kicking me off frequently or I couldn't even log in the first time, it took several attempts. Other then that its a really great place to stay!

Good location if you don't want to be right in the center of town. Staff tried to be helpful even though they might not speak the best English. Proximity to subway is convenient and food street nearby is awesome.

We stayed multiple nights and thought that the hostel owner was very friendly and knowledgeable. We didn't really know where or how to get anywhere, and we really appreciated all of his advice! I think that was the best part about our stay there. The only suggestion we would have is to make it possible to use more than one device with the wifi (with the current ID & password system, it is only possible for each guest to have 1 device connected to the internet). Thank you for everything!

We stayed at HI-Sukhumvit for 4 nights while in Bangkok and we really enjoyed this hostel. It is only seconds from the skytrain which makes it very easy to get around. The room was very clean, had a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Breakfast in the morning and the free water were an added bonus. My only criticism is that the area (soi 38) does not have much to do.

I've been staying at here since its opening in 2006. Hi-Sukhumvit is always my first choice for a hostel whenever I travelled to Bangkok. I like the female dorm and the 'Female only' toilet and bathrooms, which means single female travellers can feel sercure. The owner Mr. Pitt is always smiling and doing his best for his guests who he treated as his friends. I strongly recommend this hostel for anyone who want a quiet place to relax. The 2 mins walk to BTS station is easy for access to anywhere
