We stayed at HI-Sukhumvit for 4 nights while in Bangkok and we really enjoyed this hostel. It is only seconds from the skytrain which makes it very easy to get around. The room was very clean, had a comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. Breakfast in the morning and the free water were an added bonus. My only criticism is that the area (soi 38) does not have much to do.

I've been staying at here since its opening in 2006. Hi-Sukhumvit is always my first choice for a hostel whenever I travelled to Bangkok. I like the female dorm and the 'Female only' toilet and bathrooms, which means single female travellers can feel sercure. The owner Mr. Pitt is always smiling and doing his best for his guests who he treated as his friends. I strongly recommend this hostel for anyone who want a quiet place to relax. The 2 mins walk to BTS station is easy for access to anywhere

Location right next to the skytrain and excellent street food was a huge plus. The rooftop garden was lovely for just hanging out for a bit. Has a social area but really found it difficult to meet people at this hostel. Others mentioned the same thing in their reviews but I couldn't tell you why that is. If your looking for a quiet place for a couple of days, a good choice.

I liked HI-Sukhumvit a lot. It had a great location, pretty easy to find from the Sky Train (the hostel sign is visible from the station), interesting decor, capable staff, and air conditioned rooms. The one gripe I have with this place is that all of the public spaces are open air, and therefore exposed to mosquitoes. I was DESTROYED by mosquitoes whenever I went to hang out in the lobby or on the rooftop patio. So I ended up seeking refuge in my dorm room whenever I was at the hostel.

I have very pleasant stay at Hi Sukhumvit, the location are superb, so many hawker food with good quality with cheap price around the area. You can also easily find Thai traditional massage parlour near thong lo station, I would definitely recommend this place to stay at Bangkok.

Nice hostel, bit expensive (double room) in comparison to what we had in Cambodia & Vietnam. They have lockers to store your valuables, but what was quite annoying was that they did not have enough lockers. Only on our third day there, there was one free. The staff is friendly, location great because in 5 minutes you're at the Skytrain, which can take you to a lot of places in Bangkok for little money. Overall, pretty nice hostel. Not the best I've stayed in, but pretty good.

We really enjoyed our stay in this hostel. The staff was very nice and helpful, the owner even helped us to book bustickets online. Our private room was very cozy and clean. Everyday we got new bottles of water. What we really liked, was the breakfast for free every morning, great idea. The place is quite easy to find and the food street has some nice dishes. They also have another hostel at the Victory Monument, which is even better because of the facilities. I definitely recommend it.

The staff were very friendly and helpful with giving directions and even booking a spa. Great location, 5 mins away from a station. Simple breakfast of cereal and toast provided. Just remember to bring soap!

I had let the management know in advance that I would be arriving in the middle of the night and I did. My plane was late, I got to the hostel at 2 am where there was no one in attendance. A resident let me in along with 3 other late arrivals. I dozed on the couch in the lobby until 6 am when the staff walked in from just inside the hostel. I must this was disturbing but after flying for 28 hours to recline anywhere was ok. BUT the staff should not say they will wait for you & not wait.

Located on a quiet soi, this place is a welcome break from the hustle and heat of the city. Easily accessible by bits, great roof terrace. The switch off the ac in the dorm rooms in the day time though! Pretty stingy!
