the hostel is directly in down town, wich is awesome! the hostel definitly needs some renovation. i stayed in a 8 bad dorm, we had only one shower and i am not sure if that shower ever got cleaned. there was also a basin directly in the room. so when someone brushed teeth early in the morning or late at nite, everyone would wake up. its ok to stay there a few days, but there are way better hostels around.

I would go here again in a heartbeat. I was so lucky to have my first hostel experience here. Also, give Travis my phone number for me.

This hostel has extremely good value for money, I couldn't believe how close to downtown it is! Also the staff are extremely friendly, there is a bar in the basement (that also serves up some really good food and has planned activities regularly) and is quite secure. The only downside are the showers - the 10 male mixed dorm room was lucky enough to have a small bathroom/shower right next to it (which was pretty run down), but the "regular" showers were worse.

Great location for travel! Pretty clean, and they have lots of program like a walking tour, visiting to beer factory something like that for people. I think here is best place for traveler in Toronto! I guess here is cheapest one!

Disappointing as far as an HI standard. Room was a 6-bed ensuite but door was broken so rendered bathroom useless. Our main bedroom door was so noisy is constantly woke everyone up. The lock on our main door was also very hit and miss. The lounge area was insufficient with only a few seats and music blaring all day meaning there was nowhere in the hostel to sit and relax / work / Skype. Its clean, and rooms were fine. Good location but definitely not an amazing hostel.

Loved my stay there, had originally planned to stay at the Global Backpackers hostel because they also have 10 people dorms but with breakfast but regretted going there and changed to the HI.Toronto. It is perfectly clean, has a really well equipped kitchen and is in walking distance from everywhere in downtown Toronto. Absolutely enjoyed my stay there!

It was a nice stay. We had a lot of fun there. You can meet a lot of interesting and friendly people from all over the world.

I stayed here 6 nights during a travel blogging conference in Toronto. It's close enough to walk to the major sites in downtown business district. Very good wifi in common areas, including the cool basement restaurant, and my room (501). The 6-bed dorm was a little cramped, but the beds were comfortable, and I liked getting a free towel to use.

The location is great. Just 15-minute walk to the CNN tower and to the gay village. 30-minute walk to the China Town. Lots of great activities in the hostel. But the walking tour on Monday is a bit rush and physically demanding.

Hi-Toronto had the finest amenity and its location made me travel more comfortably. If I visit Toronto again in the future, I will make a reservation there again.

Clean, friendly staff, great location, plenty secure (although bring your own lock, they charge $8). Anyone who has rated this Hostel poorly must have never stayed in a hostel before and was expecting a hotel.

Great home base for our weekend in Toronto. Great location in downtown, clean rooms with good climate control and a fine view, helpful staff, and excellent basement bar/cafe. I really couldn't ask for more in a hostel. We arrived by car from the USA and had no problem finding nearby parking.
