Well, it's hard for me to judge, cause I was only there for 1 night, but overally, it was pretty good.

The hostel is just down the street from the Eaton Centre and close to the subway.

The kitchen (the ceiling!) definitely needs a renovation - it doesn't look good. I was a little disappointed with the activities - the one I chose was cancelled (probably because of the winter).

While the value for money is good all in all, our room (private) suffered from two major flaws : - ridiculously inefficient heating (on max, the air the aircon blew wasn't even warm) in the middle of Canadian winter. Additionally, it was insanely loud making it impossible to heat over night. Plus we had tiles on the floor, which didn't help with the whole temperature problem. - the bed was highly uncomfortable.

Beds weren't so comfortable and the matresses seemed worn out. There were also not too many bathrooms on each floor (or to many out of order!). The rest of the hostel was pretty nice, especially that you can get a day card after you checked out!

Had a great stay, made friends with my roomies. Room had a bathroom attached to it so that was great. Rooms were a bit small though, could do with some extra space with 4 girls crammed in! Loved getting breakfast cooked every morning at the cafe/bar downstairs. That was the best

Very friendly staff, great rooms and service, but there was no fan in the bathroom and the guy ahead of me wasn't feeling too great... Also the elevator being broken sucked because we were on the top floor. Great place though all the same!

Great location, very clean, good facilities (big common kitchen and common area, phone calls, wifi, towel, tours). Staff very friendly. I might come back but with a HI membership, as I did not have and had to pay 4$ extra per night.

I didn't find the staff terribly friendly, maybe because I was there for such a short time... Fine for the price and served its purpose.

We had fun at HI Toronto. Everyone we met met was so friendly. The rooms arn't quite big enough for all the luggage but the staff and facilities make up for it. It is so close to all amenities including the Eatin shopping centre, pharmacy and lots of pubs and clubs too. We had fun. It took a bit of time to get used to the rooms but it is a lot better that most hostels. A must stay!!! Wifi is billiant too and free!!!!! Will definitely stay here again if back in Toronto.

The elevator and bathrooms could do with some work but they get the job done. BYO pillow the one I got was pretty lumpy. Other than than good place to stay, good common areas to chill out, fast wifi and incredibly chill restaurant down in the basement.

Only stayed for 1 night, but it was a good stay. Some of the other guests in my room were very noisy, but this is obviously not the hostel's fault. The room had a bathroom which was clean. It would've been nice if the sheets were already set up, instead of having to do it ourselves. I loved the cafe/bar in the basement, the food was cheap and really good. The location of the hostel was also excellent, close to good night life and food. Overall, I'd recommend staying at this hostel.
