I was only there two nights for a quick one day trip to Vancouver, but the hostel was great and the staff very helpful! It was clean, the beds comfortable, the wifi was good. Towel and linen were perfect, bathrooms good, too!

Is a sweet hostel to stay in Vancouver. Free breakfast is awesome.

Had a private room with ensuite bathroom. Checked in and went to my room, which was very dirty. Sheets hadn't been changed, garbage all over the place, etc. Staff were very helpful, told them about the mess and all was fixed by the time I returned to the room. Would stay there again.

The toilets and washrooms were absolutely disgusting. In the morning the breakfast wasn't worth it and there was no atmosphere whatsoever. I went opposite to Samesun a few times because there was a much better atmosphere.

Good hostel. Great location, breakfast provided, good security at the front door, big lockers. Just be advised that it's in a somewhat old building where things don't always work as they should. For example, the curtains in your dorm might not actually be wide enough to cover the window. Still, good place.

There was a guy very weird and so nervous in the room, they couldn't stop to move... leave and go back in the room every hours during the night. Maybe it will be safer to check if the person who take the room is correct and not a junkie. It's a question of security for the other roomates. Otherwise, the breakfast was very appreciated the morning

Great hostel. Convenient location, decent breakfast, and comfy/clean rooms. Stayed in a 2 bedroom dorm which was perfect to guarantee a quiet night. Would def stay again!

The staff were really helpful when we asked about the downtown hostel and other hostels we're planning on staying with in banff, lake louise, calgary and toronto.

The room was very small for four beds. Staff at the reception could be more helpful

Good value, great location, it was just down the street from where I needed to go. Room was spartan but clean, washroom was clean. Included free breakfast and free towel, plus they will check your bag after you check out so you can chill in the city without packing your stuff. There was a sign at the front desk saying people from certain parts of BC (lower mainland?) weren't allowed to stay there--not sure if this is a bylaw or policy. Recommend.

Staff are helpful, friendly, dorm room was fine. For Vancouver, seems good value for the money. Only problem was the wifi - kept losing the signal.

Great location and great staff. Kitchen is limited, but you know about that before. Toilets were still not cleaned at 11 am in the morning. Building is quite old, my room was a bit smelly, not sure if it was the room or my roommate. I have stayed at HI-Downtown and HI-Jericho before and I like them a lot more / you get more value for money.

Hostel and Staff were really great! One small note: the price on HostelWorld.com is with their "Hostelling International" membership discount! I didn't find that in any notes for the hostel on HostelWorld web site so they allowed me the discounted price (which was REALLY nice on their part). The membership was for $15? I think... so if you have 5 days worth of stay, then it'll pay itself off (I didn't so wasn't interested). Overall: a fantastic place to stay and explore Vancouver! :)

Owner Comment (Show)
Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay! Just a small note -- on our main Hostelworld page, it is listed twice that our rates are for HI members (once at the bottom of the "Property Description" and again in the "Things to Note" section). Thanks for your comments! Kind Regards, Keith

The breakfast was very good and well thought, but there's not a lot of room to eat. We had a double private room. The security with cards at the front door and the room's door was nice and appreciated, but the matress and pillow are really inconfortable. I like the stay for a really brief moment, but without a confortable place to sleep, I wouldn't like to stay too long. But the price is interesting for what it has to offer. Good job

The hostel is in an excellent location, close to everything. The rooms are small but clean and comfortable, but the hostel lacked genuine common areas if you were looking to meet other travellers. The free breakfast each morning was excellent!

Pretty good location and decent facilities. In a private ensuite we had a decent sized bathroom and a tv which is pretty great for a hostel. A little dated on the inside and the common room is pretty quiet and scattered but otherwise great. Would definitely stay again.
