The staff were very nice and accomadating. There was a mix-up and we were put in a dirty room, but we were apologized to and moved to a new room no problem. The breakfast was pretty good. The bathrooms were nice. If you're looking for an affordable place to stay in Vancouver, this is definitely a good place to stay.

I wish I had've had more people staying in my room while I was there. It was just me and it got a bit lonely.

This was my first stay in a hostel! I was impressed! I thought the rooms and the bathrooms were very clean. I was able to easily access the showers and sinks as I needed. I was also impressed with the breakfast selection, and the fact that coffee was available all day. I found most of the staff to be helpful and friendly - with the exception of one of the male staff members - who acted as if I was interrupting his relationship with his cell phone while I was checking out.

I will always stay in this hostel when I come to Vancouver. It's off the main street so it doesn't have all the traffic noise, it's always clean, the staff are super nice and there is loads to do in the area.

Great hostel if you need somewhere to land in Vancouver and get your stuff organised! 24hr kitchen is awesome, I was never awake early enough for the free breakfast, but there was often a bagel or toast leftover after the period anyhow, plus all day free coffee is awesome for those cold rainy days! Not much space in the rooms but the lockers are really big so you should be well enough. I had an excellent stay & even made some contacts with others who were similarly new in town. Fab!

The staff members were very friendly and very helpful. I would have preferred to have the breakfast run later than 9:15 so you didn't feel rushed. Needs to have an ATM that accepts US cards.

the hostel met all the requirements - a decent bed, fairly clean, good free breakfast. i've stayed in worse but i've also stayed in much better! the rooms are really cramped and dated, but the shared bathroom was always clean. the location was a great spot for cheap hidden restaurants, and is only slightly out of the way for the downtown stuff you may usually be there for. but bussing was easy enough to any area of the city. i think the hostel was ok but could use some updates and cleaner linen.

Fantastic hostel, one of the best I have stayed in so far, and the best value. Really good breakfast but make sure you don't sleep in. Rooms are very clean and quiet, lockers are a good size, heaps of activities. One thing I would recommend is to put hooks in the bathrooms to hang towels and clothes on.

the hotel was quite ok. The location is very good. The rooms are clean but a little small. The toilets and showers were cleaned in the morning at 9.00. that's not good, because the use of the washrooms is very high at the morning.

I had a great time at this hostel. It was in a very safe location (I was a female traveling alone) and convenient for walking to downtown, Stanley Park, and to many bus stops. There are scheduled social events for every day of the week. Rooms were very clean, as were the bathrooms and showers. Linens are provided, so that was convenient too. This is more of a "suburban" hostel, located in a quaint and quiet neighborhood, and a FULL kitchen. Also, the free breakfast provided was very good.

One of the best hostels i've ever stayed in. Good location, good atmosphere and the breakfast is the best which a hostel can offer. Definately recommend it for short or long stays.

Definitely the better choice over HI Central. The building is newer, cleaner and in a nice neighbourhood instead of just right next to pubs. Of course, it always depends on what you are looking for - but for my next stay I'll definitely choose the HI Downtown again.

Take a torch, the bunk beds do not have individual bed lights so some bunks can be very dark. This hostel has a lot of optional avtivities arranged and provides useful information sheets on area/shops/activities/transport
