Our room on the second floor was right near the door to a communal area which made A VERY LOUD NOISE everytime someone went through and it closed. Other than that, no complaints. Great location, friendly staff, ok breakfast. Very friendly and helpful staff and great location too. Also one of the good thing about this hostel is that the rooms are fairly large and bright. Directions a little bit confusing, but luckily Gent is a small enough town. More street names would be useful on the directions instead of take a right, then another right.. The hostel itself was cheap and a nice place to stay. In a beautiful square - tho not the easiest place to find - we somehow got there and were verry happy with the setting and the closeness to the centre. The whole place was of a good standard and the staff friendly and helpful. It would be nice for the common room to stay open longer hours though (but this is a small point).
