I arrived from a late night flight and asked for some help to get my luggage upstairs (4th floor) and was told it is not possible even though they dont have an elevator. The staff then told me to leave my bags at reception and just take upstairs what I needed! I asked to be refunded and it was at first refused but after a while he accepted. He was not decent enough to call me a taxi to go find another hotel so I had to go stand on the streets in the rain at 1am to try and find another place.

Owner Comment (Show)
We have investigated Ms Bethany Giannitsopoulos' complaints thoroughly and below are the facts: 1. Ms Giannitsopoulos arrived at approx 11.05pm. She paid S$99 and an invoice was raised. She was allocated Room 307 and the room number was written on the invoice. So we do not understand why she said she was allocated a 4th floor room. 2. It is clearly stated on the Hostelworld website that Haising Hotel is a budget hotel and there is no lift. As this is a budget hotel, one will not expect it to have bell-boys or porters. The night staff who served Ms Giannitsopoulos is 66 years old and had suffered a slipped disc a few months back. He told her that he had a very bad back problem and is not able to bring her medium-sized bag upstairs. As Ms Giannitsopoulos is a young and huge lady, she had the choice of bringing her bag upstairs herself or leave it in our storage room (not at the reception). 3. Ms Giannitsopoulos had booked for 2 Nights but she told the staff she was staying 1 Night only. Then she said she did not want to stay anymore and asked for a refund. When the staff refunded her the S$99 paid earlier, she asked him to also refund the 10% deposit (S$11) she had paid when she made the booking. Our staff rightly explained to her that Haising Hotel is not able to refund her that deposit as it was paid directly to Hostelworld. 4. Ms Giannitsopoulos left the hotel at approx 11.20pm. At no time, did she asked our staff to call her a taxi. When she left, it was not raining at all. This fact is clearly supported from our CCTVs located in the lobby and outside our building. So we are very puzzled why she said she had to stand on the streets in the rain at 1am.
