Comfy dorms perfect for a night's sleep with a privacy curtain, a light, a plug and a big locker for everyone. The two kicthens are very well equipped and perfect for cooking and socializing. There is also a nice lounge to watch movies and hotel like bathrooms. On the last night, they ugraded me to a twin room, so it has it's perks to stick around. The dorm I was staing in has giant windows that opened to the parking and basically meant that anyone could come in and grab stuff. Bit noisy in twin

Nice and cozy place. More than enough space for everybody in comparison to the amount of beds, very good.

NZ was the 20th country I have hosteled and out of all my experiences Haka was one of the cleanest and most accommodating. 100% would recommend to anyone looking for quiet and clean (the hostel was cleaned everyday) Thanks so much for the great experience.

Above average hostel quality and more on par with a lodge/hotel accommodation.

A good hostel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Queenstown is a terrific little town.

This place is the truth, plain and simple. Location is very close to town, but not too close to the club scene. Atmosphere is conducive to people get getting to know each other. Good mix of older and younger travelers. Privacy curtains for sleeping and locked storage under your bed is a huge plus. Highly recommended.

Great hostel with super friendly staff and free wifi. Only 2 blocks from the central part of downtown on a quiet street. Comfortable beds with privacy curtains and reading lights / outlets for each bed. Lockable large lockers for each person. Would definitely stay again.

Really nice hostel in a great spot; close to the centre of Queenstown but a few streets back so nice and quiet at night. Friendly staff, great dorm rooms with heaps of under-bed storage (which you can use your own padlocks), clean showers and toilets, large, tidy kitchen area and a lounge with a smaller kitchen for night time use. A secure code entry system for after hours, and a super cute and friendly hostel jack russell! Would definitely recommend staying here.

Our first night there was a group of 'cougar' women from Australia staying, out for a night on the town and getting 'hammered'. Half (4) were in the next room to ours and made a racket up until almost 11.30pm when they finally set off for their pub crawl. We'd booked for a trip to Milford Sound leaving at 7am, requiring us to be up at 6, so weren't best pleased when they began to noisily return around 3.30, ending with the sound of retching at 5.30. How to deter groups like this? A 'curfew' ??

i had stayed in base before and never wanted to go back there. haka lodge was perfect, a warm and cozy place to come home to. i met nice people there, there's lockers under the sturdy wooden beds (no creaking / swaying). the kitchen & lounge area was very inviting (with games and dvds etc), clean and stylish, but we decided to go to town for a beer. location-wise it was great cause it's very close to the center, but not on the base / fergburger side of town.

I think the privacy curtains were a good addition, and the bunk beds were very sturdy.

Really lovely facilities. The bathrooms and common areas were well thought out and the staff were friendly and helpful. Only small negative was that the room we stayed in was a little dusty and we woke up with a little hay fever. Otherwise really lovely stay.

Loved our stay here. The main guy on reception was fantastic. Really friendly and helpful and was great on settling us in. The whole hostel was clean and tidy and despite being a bit of a rabbit warren was really enjoyable. Was great having a clean kitchen to cook in and clean showers! Also thought the beds were fantastic as could pull across the curtains for privacy and loved having a bed light and bed charger. Best place to stay in Queenstown
