Nice clean kitchens and comfortable common areas. Loved the privacy curtains and plug socket and light for each bed and lockers. Free wifi is great.

Bathrooms were just as cold as outside unfortunately... Not much going on in the hostel. IE. walking tours of qtown, organized nights out... more of a 'long-termer' vibe in the hostel.

Hardware is nice. Location is good. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Everything is good except noises. I can't sleep for the whole night during my stay because outside the room was very noisy (talking about 1-5am early morning!!) People were still walking around in the public areas - toilets, lounge, stairs.... had a terrible night.

Great place to stay in Queenstown! Very modern and clean rooms, staff were so nice and it's only 2 minutes from the centre of town.

The hostel was a welcome change from the busy, messy un-personal chains.Kitchen facilities were great with pots and pans that were new, still had handles and weren't black and burnt. Crockery and cutlery provided were matching!! Unheard of!! The staff were warm, welcoming, friendly and remember your name. The beds were a-may-zing!! Bunk beds that don't protest when you climb the ladder or creak every time you breathe. Sturdy, wooden beds with privacy curtain, love, love love. Best hostel in NZ!

Rented a double with my partner. Very comfortable beds... The location right behind town is perfect for going out and then coming back and actually getting a fantastic nights sleep. Nice to see some color on the walls too. Maybe could use a few more toilets... I didn't have a problem but the hostel wasn't packed out either

Great hostel, nice comfortable beds with privacy curtains. Friendly staff goes out of their way for you. Kitchen that makes you feel at home, off of the busy queenstown streets. Nice porch with grill. Highly recommend this hostel!

We really liked this hostel, it was close to the city, super clean. We stayed in the twin room which looked like a hotel room, the decor was great and room with a TV to chill in the evenings. Free wifi in the rooms which was good. The walls are a little thin so could hear quite a lot of noise from the other guests and also the bathroom lock was a bit dodgey as i walked in on a lady as it was quite unclear if anybody was in there! Would stay again :)

Loved it. Well thought out rooms with your own light, plug and curtains around your bed. Nice communal areas and the bathrooms were lovely and clean. Monty the dog makes it feel more homely too :)

It was the first time in 2 months travel in NZ that something got stolen from the kitchen, although it was tagged with my name on. A new pack of bread. Luckely it was only bread.

The owners seem to have put alot of thought into what makes a hostel stay that much easier and incorporated this into the design... I really liked the curtains for privacy on the dorm beds, and the little lights in each bed cubicle so everybody can have it light or dark at their will without disturbing others. Also like the soap dispensers in the showers :)

Glad to finally have a hostel which offers free wi-fi. The room was clean however there is a need for more toilets; usually they were all engaged. Noisy at times, especially when everyone is getting ready for a pub crawl and your trying to sleep! Staff were ok, no complaints.

Haka Lodge is quite new and it shows - everything is super clean and in full working order. The staff were all very friendly and eager to help. We stayed in room 12, which got the full sun, so during the day it was unbearably hot. There was one window, however it faced the street, so you couldn't really open the curtain at night to try and let a breeze in. Also, there needs to be a better system for marking food as we came down to have breakfast on our first morning to find our cereal gone.

I would definitely recommend Haka Lodge for those who are planning on staying in Queenstown. The people in Haka are very nice, everything is clean and tidy. Also, the beds in the dorms have curtains, so you don’t have to worry about privacy.

This is the best hostel we've been to during our 3 months of travel. The beds are really comfortable and the pillows as well! The staff is very friendly and make you feel welcome. Furthermore the hostel is totally clean and the kitchen great equipped. We would highly recommend this hostel and would love to come back.
