Great hostel with friendly staff. Would be good to have to fire going during the day as it gets colder! Only problem with Haka Lodge is that the kitchen is tiny and you have to cook in shifts of 1-2 people at a time. Oh, and it would be great if you could do your own washing and not have to pay $7 for a wash/dry. Clean and friendly though!

Was such a nice clean hostel, so homely and cosy! Loved the little lounge area with a choice of movies to watch and sky tv. Offered free wifi which was great. The rooms were really clean and cosy. Don't have anything bad to say about it. The location was further from the city centre but the bus stop was just over the road so easily accessible. There is a supermarket and selection of takeaway food places and restaurants just a short walk. Gave useful information to you on arrival.

An amazing place, clean and secure with friendly and helpful staff. Brilliant place to stay and relax. Dorms have separating walls which give a helpful sense of personal space. It's a bit far away from town to walk but there's plenty of buses and shops are just around the corner.

A bit far from the airport but worth the distance. Really quaint atmosphere, clean facilities, and friendly helpful and honest staff. Will definitely return.

I stayed for 6 nights and was very impressed with the Haka Lodge and the staff. The Haka is a luxury hostel, with a well equipped kitchen and excellent plates and cups. There is a good dinning room for eating. I stayed in the dorm which is well furnished with single beds instead of bunks - a big plus with large cupboards for storage. The lounge is very comfortable with good furniture and a large tv screen with Sky television programmes. Buses stop on the road outside and there is a short walk to the library

You need to install nets on the windows, there's a lot of Mosquitos out side And people may want to sleep with opened windows

Excellent place to stay! It was very homely and welcoming. The rooms are large, clean and spacious. Wardrobe and shelves and even a TV/DVD. Great value for money. Shared kitchen with great facilities and shared bathrooms also really nice and clean. Everyone gets together in the TV room in the evening. Only downside are no safes in rooms and door didn't lock from the inside. But you should definitely stay here!

The place is really new! There is a huge TV and SKYTV in the huge lounge. The place is clean and cosy. Definitely worth more than the rate they charge. The location is neatly tucked away at Linwood and is slightly out of city centre. However, it is not hard to get there by bus.

Staying at Haka Lodge was just like being at home with family and friends! The Lodge was close to public bus routes and reasonably close to supermarkets. Sarah was very caring and helpful throughout our stay and gave us lots of tips about attractions and places to visit. The Lodge was very clean and comfortable and the lounge provided travellers with a great place to relax and meet new friends. I would definitely recommend this little gem to other travellers!
