Great hostel about a mile from the main night life area so not a bad walk at all. Super clean and cleaned everyday. Good air conditioning and the staff were super cool. Right below the rooms there's a bar if you don't want to go into the craziness. I would for sure stay here again :)

Room was huge, but there was a slight damp smell which wasn't great. Good bar attatched which was nice - but it opened too late! Breakfast menu, but never anyone about in the morning. Bit of a walk to the main Samui strip but right by the beach. Probably the best pool table I played on in Thailand as well :)

Helpful and friendly staff and a really lovely hostel to stay in. The food was nice when we ate at the resteraunt, though there was only one person running the bar and serving food, so service was a bit hurried and some food was forgotton. However, the hostel had a really nice atmosphere and was close to the beach. Altogether it was a great place and I would definitely recommend staying at Hakuna Matata hostel.

For four people travelling together, the Family Room (two double beds) was the PERFECT choice and great value too! Highly recommended. We did not go out a lot on Koh Samui, so we cannot say much about the location.

Very thin walls, we had some very noisy neighbours who kept us up until 3 am every night. We could hear all their conversations as if they were in the same room.

Nice place, clean, good facilities, comfy bed, good and big mosquito net, fan worked well, good wifi, good location at the edge of the famous beach area about 50 min in taxi bus from west coast peer, - 15 min walk to the main pub action, 5 min to the beach, good restaurant, russian owner. Overall good value for money and one of the cheaper places to stay!

Really enjoy stay here, was just the right distance from the main hustle and bustle of Chewang central about a 5 min walk if that. To get to the beach you need to walk down the road abit and cut through another resort whihc was fine once we figured it out. Staff were Incredibly helpful really made our stay alot easier helping us book things. had a double room which was big, incredible air con and nice big shower. theres a bar down below but that seemed really quiet, looked good for eating though

Very nice hostel, it is more a hotel. Quite close to the airport and very close to the beach, but quite far from the piers (where you can take the boat to Koh Tao or Koh Phang-an for example). I recommend it!

Nice hostel. Was there in a superior double for Christmas. Spacious room with space outside (we were on ground floor so this would be a balcony if on first). Great staff, helpful, and there's a bar at the front. It is a ten minute walk to the local hub of bars and restaurants, though you can get to the beach through the resort on either side of the hostel and walk up the beach all the way.
