Wonderful hostel - more like a boutique hotel with a backpacker vibe and great staff. Only downside was the terrible WiFi connection - could really do with an overhaul. If this is fixed, the hostel will be perfect!

Hostel located in quite a dingy street but location good for visting most of Xi'an. Overall experience was good but didn't find staff particularly friendly. Bathroom clean by Chinese hostel standards. Laundry service very good and staff helpful and friendly. Reception staff polite but not particularly friendly or welcoming. Bar played really bad music, really loudly. Perhaps if you enjoy Justin Bieber or Norah Jones then you'd enjoy this. Lacked any atmosphere

The staff (except from one friendly girl) is rather unfriendly, it seems they do not really want to give you information. If you get an answer it is quite short. The rooms are clean and big, the beds comfortable. The restaurant downstairs is overprized (including drinks), but anayway the food is okay.

Good food, good people. This was a really nice hostel spend a few nights in Xi'an! Really nice bar area with live music sometimes! Highly recommend this hostel!

The beds were comfortable (all provided with a reading light and small shelf), the staff was quite helpful and the bathroom was clean and good.

Good location, easy access to transport to various places of interest. Staff friendly and helpful although not all requests were understood or completed (eg. location of pick-up for bus 306 to warriors, making-up bed for my stay). Appreciated offer of free watermelon at the end of a very hot day. Dorm bathroom could be cleaner. More space needed to dry clothing items.

These beds were the most comfortable beds I slept in during my entire stay in China, which includes an expensive hotel as well. Although the food and tours are obviously overpriced, I really liked both anyway. The staff was really friendly, even helping me out at the supermarket opposite to the hostel. The bar is really nice and even though there is live music now and then, you are not bothered by the sound when you want to go to bed early.

As a 21-year old American female traveling solo (and able to speak very little Chinese) I felt extremely safe at the Han Tang House and had a fantastic stay. The other travelers I met were a pleasure to talk to and the atmosphere felt very social. The staff was very helpful and spoke amazing English. I would absolutely return and/or recommend this hostel to a friend. Thanks for everything!!

The location and facilities were very good, and I stayed in the 8 people dorm. There were many staff members on site, however they were all very busy. I found the atmosphere is not right for solo travellers as there were not many social nights within the hostel itself, and had to visit the sister hostels to find like-minded travellers.

The staff were absolutely wonderful! So helpful and friendly (and speak fantastic English)! The hostel itself is pretty cute too, I liked the bar/restaurant common area (and the food was good!) and my room was cozy. I had a private room with its own bathroom, which had a Western toilet, but the common bathrooms are co-ed and have squat toilets, just FYI for any other squeamish Americans.

Excellent hostel giving great value and comfort. One problem: the hostel hosts live music making early rest difficult as the music fills the hostel. Thankfully, the hostel turns off the music near to 11PM. Besides the sleep robbing music decibels, the place is quite outstanding with tasty food, excellent support from friendly, available staff, and superb center-city location. Tours packaged in-house combining guests from other hostels making a fun day mixing with good people. Excellent!

Han Tang House has to be the best hostel so far that we have stayed in to date in China, and possibly the world! Such good value for money, fantastic clean rooms and a great atmosphere with a lovely cafe and dumpling parties. We felt this was more like a budget hotel than hostel and would highly recommend! Thank you to all the very friendly staff :) Only small point is that there isn't a communal kitchen if you require this.

well, its pretty close for the metro station and city spots, just within a walking distance to the tower and drum bell. What i like is, it has its own private bathroom for each female dorm. Too bad, the bathroom wasnt clean everyday by the staff so its kindda slippery and dirty.

I wanted to go on a tour but there weren't enough people that singed up...I ask several times how to get there but the Staff wouldn't help to give me directions (although I spoke Chinese)

Lovely hostel - more like a small hotel with hostel atmosphere. Great location near Muslim Quarter and metro. Really comfortable, clean room and bathroom.

The staff were excellent. It was really the great friendly and helpful staff that made the stay 10 out of 10. Their English was very acceptable. Would highly recommend this hostel to anyone. I opted for the a airport pickup that they offer for a reasonable fee which is very helpful if you don't want to deal with the stress of finding the place or to tired from traveling.
