The staff were excellent. It was really the great friendly and helpful staff that made the stay 10 out of 10. Their English was very acceptable. Would highly recommend this hostel to anyone. I opted for the a airport pickup that they offer for a reasonable fee which is very helpful if you don't want to deal with the stress of finding the place or to tired from traveling.

The terracotta warriors trip organised by han tang was good. But don t do the 120 yuan transportation deal to hua sha if you don t speak mandarin. Guide did not speak a word English. Drinks and food at the hostel are quite expensive. Also it is pretty noisy and they do not have a lift.
Clean dorm with a ensuite bathroom which is both good and bad. Nice bar with live music every night. Hostel offers some tours too.
Great place to stay, close to bell tower and great food stalls down end of the street for breakfast. Recommended
Gold standard for hostels. Really clean rooms and friendly staff.
This hostel was amazing. It felt so much like a home away from home- I caught myself often saying "heading back home". The private rooms were great, as were the bathrooms. The restaurant and bar downstairs was phenomenal. I'm am by no means the type of person that seeks out western foods whilst traveling abroad, but the food was top notch, and beautifully plated (someone there must have gone to culinary school). The staff were very helpful and friendly. And they have laundry service! Thank you!!
Great option in Xian - great price for a room even though the walls are too thin if you have loud neighbours. The tour to Jingdi only includes a non-English speaking driver and no guide. The tour to the terracotta warriors was good - guide included.
Overall a good experience. The beds are great, and the rooms in general. Bar downstairs is great to meet people, but unfortunately when I stayed was not many other travellers. Right in the middle of the central area so nothing is far away.
The bathrooms are nice, the rooms are large. Also nice location with plenty of street food around. However our six person dorm which we had paid for became a 7 person dorm at 1 am when the hostel sent a random person to our room who proceeded to wake up everyone. In addition the information about airport transportation was inaccurate. First claiming that there was 1) no airport shuttle and then 2) it would take double the time and price it actually did. The WiFi is terribly slow.
I was only in Xi'an for two nights so I needed to make the best use of my time- HanTang House did a great job of arranging a car to pick me up at the airport and setting me up with a tour of the Terracotta Army. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, helpful and spoke English (bonus!). When you arrive you will need to leave a deposit, so have cash. There is a Bank of China close by. There is a convenience store directly across the street. There is a water filter in the hallways to fill your bottles.
Brilliant stay! Only 10 mins walk to the clock tower. Staff can speak English well. The only thing to complain, no lift.
we really enjoyed this hostel!! our 8-bed dorm room was just great (shower and toilet ensuite) and staff was helpful. would definetly book this hostel again and also recommend it
Great location, though a little challenging to find. I stayed in a single room and my room was very cozy, clean, and (relatively) quiet. I chose a single room because my past two hostel experiences were very noisy and I needed a good nights sleep. I can't recommend the restaurant on the hostel's first floor -it's quite overpriced. Additionally, the staff is average... kind of moody and they always seem short tempered.
It's my second stay at Han Tang House and it's THE place to go if you are gong to Xi'An. The infrastructure of the hostel is incredible, with a very polite staff, lively bar do relax and interact with other people at night. If you are staying there, don't miss the Wild Goose Pagoda drink, it's quite an experience!
The Hostel was ok, but I´d say suffering from Chinese "classics" such as advertising wifi connection, which is so slow, that it is unusable, windows that can not be fully closed and don´t insulate, lobby extremely loud when someone is playing footsal around and similar. Otherwise sweet to see someone talking English, free bottled water, excellent location and helpful staff.
Good location, decent wifi. Arrived late in the morning via train and staff let us sleep in the common area till the next morning when they let us check in early. Cool bar area but drinks are a little overpriced. Would definitely stay here again.
Excellent choice ! The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were very clean. The atmosphere of the bar was also really nice.
Food was slightly overpriced, bathroom/shower room was dirty at times and wasn't cleaned consistently but in general it was a nice hostel and beds were comfortable. Jaja the tour guide was brilliant and so funny.
Great Location on a largely residential street with a lot of actions: small shops and stores, apartment dwellers hanging out, restaurants, with in walking distance of subway and main Xian action. Pleasant, clean accommodations. We didn't eat at the restaurant/cafe except to have coffee. Great deal for the price.
