Best atmosphere for a hostel I have ever experienced. Staff very professional, helpful
This was the best hostel I stayed in in China in terms of rooms, cleanliness and service. The softest beds and excellent showers. The hostel bar is also a cafe and it doesn't have an 'authentic Chinese' atmosphere if you are looking for that, but you always meet people. I took the tour to the terracotta warriors from the hostel which was good and fun! Two thumbs up!
nice value for money place. However I arranged for a free transfer from the train station to the hostel but no one came to pick me up and I had to make my own way to the hostel.
Very good! Nice bar. Watch out for the level when their is live music, the drinks are expensive. But a very nice place.
Our room was quite good vs the price we paid. Clean and confortable. The downstairs restaurant has a very decent western food for a good price. The staff speaks a poor english but with a little effort you can get them to uderstand what you need and after that they will be happy to help. The bad things was that there was no wifi signal is our room (4th floor) and there is no elevator. Really hard to get on the 4th floor carring our bags.
We booked a tripple and a single room, but when we arrived they only had two twin rooms instead. Had two reservations, and the next day we could switch to the 'correct' rooms. Eventually we ended up staying in these rooms all three days, which was cleared with reception with no problems.
Excellent helpful staff and great atmosphere. Had lots of fun.
Best hostel we've stay in for months...I don't have enough space here to say how pleased we've been with this hostel...we even stay longer because was so good...Sasha was wonderful and I was sad to leave as I think of her as a good friend now...nothing is too much to ask here...really enjoyed the vibe with live music and do not leave without trying the beef burger...everybody going to Xi'an should try this hostel
Han Tang House had a great bar, and activities and live music every night. Although the food and coffee were on the steep side, it's nice to have the lazy option. The rooms were hotel standard, and bathrooms too. Staff were friendly if rather direct, the downside is there's no communal area outside of the bar so eating your own food is a bit of an issue
For the first time in my many trips, i booked a single private room. It was very good. The only bad thing was its location in the hostel: next to a stair and a common bathroom. So, even though i enjoyed the privacy, the surroundings of the room were very noisy sometimes. Other than that, nice hostel, well located. Wi fi free, breakfast not included. Good food, a bit overpriced maybe, but good. Nice and helpful staff. Good terracotta warriors tour, lots of info.
Stay there when in xian, fab place. Clean, lovely staff, good atmosphere, it's a must.
Great place, comfortable beds, good location, and clean.

Dorms are large, seem almost brand new and are EXTREMELY well equiped. Personal electricity sockets, large comfortable sturdy bunks and ensuites that are hotel quality. Location isnt bad - 10 min walk to Bell tower. Staff aren't bad and produce a very helpful free map but seem a bit disinterested at times. Wifi didn't work in my dorm and although it was fast disconnected a lot. Recommended for a comfy and clean experience.
What a great hostel!!! Great for the lone traveler to meet people, loads of stuff to do, in a great location and incredible staff. Free railway station pick-up. Excellent bag storage and a great city to explore. Separate shower and toilet in the dorms. Plenty of room. Couldn't rate it more highly. Worth the money.
Only downside is how expensive meals and drinks are there.
One of the best hostel I stayed in China. Double bed is very clean with the most comfortable bed ever! The common place is not that big and can be very crowded. The location is within walking distance to Drum/Bell Tower. Staff can't speak really good English so we have to go to Hantang Inn to get help with ticket booking.
This hostel was nice. The Jamaica Blue in the reception seems like a nice touch, but it does make drinks and food very pricey in comparison to regular Chinese hostel bars. Nice staff and clean rooms. The only thing I would say is that wehn we were moving into our private room there was a random guy using the toilet, which was a bit odd! Overall a good hostel though. I recommend it.
The staff were fantastic. They seemed to have a great memory for who their guests were, which was impressive. Getting a driver to and from the airport through the hostel is definitely worth it. 150 kuai is not too expensive and the drivers were safe and on time. The tour to the Terra Cotta army was great, and our guide Zha Zha was hilarious. I think that the bathrooms should be cleaned more frequently, especially in the dorm rooms - but I guess you get what you pay for!

Good hostel, central location, good atmosphere.
Overall a great experience. The best bed I have had in all of China, by far. I don't know if I'll ever be back in Xi'an, but if I am I am staying here again.
