What an amazing hostel with great character and ambiance. The staff was extremely efficient, kind and helpful. It was a relaxing place to stay and very convenient location-wise. Would stay again in a heartbeat and will definitely reoommend it!

staff were excellent, extremely helpful and very friendly. The bed was great but the pillows were uncomfortable. I agree with some other reviewers that the light in the bathroom is much to dim, it made shaving difficult. Overall an excellent place to stay.

Very well decorated common room (if a bit dim). Dorm was decent, lockers in the room. Bathroom was stinky. Close to metro and several buses. The staff was somewhat helpful, changed all the time. There were maybe 2-3 that spoke/understood enough English to help you immediately. We booked a taxi for a day thru them. They said it would cover parking but the driver paid no parking fees. They refused to give us a refund for any amount and just said sorry. Book your own independently! Not thru them!

- The highlight for us was the roof top terrace and the general atmosphere everywhere in the hostel. - The staff was very nice and very helpful but one thing to improve would be in regards of general instructions or informations. We were wrongly informed by the staff for the directions to the Huashang Mountain and also not informed that Taxi's could not come to hostel. Almost missed our flight on departure day. - I would try to improve on the breakfast. The omelets were good though!

Am getting spoilt with all the nice and functional hostels in China. Han Tang Inn is absolutely fine, but not as outstanding as some. The ground floor dorm was dark and a bit small. It required coordination if all guests were moving around at the same time. I am not a fan of ensuite bathrooms in dorms. I prefer larger general ones where you can take your time. Nice restaurant/reception area on the ground floor though and a lovely rooftop garden.

I spent a whole week at Xian and I'm happy I stayed at this hostel. I was really comfortable, location couldn't be better, they had some good food at the restaurant (specially the sweet stuff!). Rooftop was very nice although they had beautiful birds in tiny cages =( It's also good that they would have the sister hostel so close, so if one of the places gets crowded and you want to eat quitely you can go to the other one. I definitely recommend it =)

The hostel was very clean. Staff was very friendly and was willing to help out. I also ate there a few times and the food was pretty good. However, it was awkward being the only male in a room of 5 other girls. Other than that, it was a very good experience and I would come back.

It might be a good idea to have a key to get into rooms that are locked from the outside. A guy spent an hour trying to wake his girlfriend up because she was asleep, if there had been a key to open the door, the entire floor wouldn't have had to been woken up.

Han Tang Inn is definitely where you want to stay in Xi'an. I don't believe I can point out a single thing that I didn't like! Great staff, food, and location; everything you could want in a hostel!

We stayed in a double room with ensuite. Bed was King Size which was lovely. Room quite large compared to others we stayed in in China. Service was mostly friendly and efficient. Close to Drum and Bell towers and Muslim Quarter and 10 min to south gate of city wall. Roof-top garden was lovely to relax in and to play table tennis

Great hostel with very friendly staff and lots to do. We booked a train ticket and tour through them with little effort on our part. The Traveller's Cafe and the rooftop garden are great for drinking, eating, and sharing stories about the great sites Xi'an has to offer.

It's one one the best Hostel we have stayed at in China. Very well located near all sightseeing, helpful staff , clean rooms, good food and a beautiful green garden on the top of the building. Recommend the Terra-cota warriors tour, our guide Jia-Jia was very careful.

this was one of the best hostels i've ever stayed at. the hostel owner picked us up at the train station for free, and allowed us to store bags overnight when we weren't staying there with no hassle. the staff speak very good english, and are really able to accomodate to their guests needs. the rooms were extremely clean, with in suite bathrooms. the tours they arrange themselves are well run and a fair price- i highly recommend this place!

Great place, our family ( including 2 teenagers) were very happy here. Five minutes walk from the centre of town, but best of all it's in a small side street full of locals - street foods, locals playing checkers, kids playing etc - wonderful! Warmly recommend this hostel. Food was good too!

Great stop for a night or two in Xi'an, close to the Muslim Quarter and Drum & Bell towers. A pity they couldn't help us book train tickets for places other than Xi'an, however a lovely clean hostel with a good atmosphere.
